WORK INSPECTED:
Units 108/208, 408/508, and 708/808
OBSERVATIONS:
Shoring is in place as specified in the permit drawings.
Unit 108/208
• The screen enclosure was removed from both units at the spalled areas.
• Loose concrete was removed from the slab edge.
• (2) Post tension cables at the west edge of balcony have been locked off.
• An additional crack was found next to one of the cables, but not yet removed. (See recommendations.)
• There was a crack in the concrete behind an adjacent cable running in the perpendicular direction of the cables
being repaired.
Unit 408/508
• The screen enclosure was removed from both units at the spalled areas.
• (13) Post tension cables at the north edge of balcony have been locked off.
• Corroded bursting bars were found at the slab edge.
• Spalling in the concrete extended 3’-6” from the slab edge into the balcony.
Unit 708/808
• Partial depth ceiling spall was repaired near the slab edge.
• Minor surface corrosion was found on the reinforcing bars.
• No deteriorated cables were found.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Unit 108/208
• Lock off additional cable at the north edge of balcony where concrete is cracked prior to removing the
remaining spalled concrete.
• Remove the remaining screen enclosure that is attached to the face of the 2nd floor balcony along the west edge.
• Remove loose concrete at the slab edge for further inspection of the post tension cables.
