HomeMy WebLinkAboutMisc Letters William Durden From: Mark Schwartz <ccm.pmp@gmail.com> Sent: Saturday, November 11, 2017 10:12 AM To: William Durden Subject: 211 Beach Ave. Mr. Durden I met you last week with my structural engineer to discuss the requirements to obtain a permit for the rotten wood replacement in the single car garage. The roof covering complicated the approval because the roof covering had to be partially removed in order to replace some of the rotten wood roof sheathing. Because the roof covering will have to be replaced after the wood sheathing inspection, apparently I will have to apply for a separate permit for the roof installation(unless I am able to attach a roof permit to this garage rotten wood replacement). By opening the roof to install the roof sheathing installation and allow access for a sheathing inspection, allows the roof to continually leak until the inspection is approved and I will then be able to apply the roof covering to stop the leaks from the rain water intrusion. Either way, I would appreciate if I can obtain the permit for the garage rotten wood so I can call for an inspection. I applied for the permit as an owner/builder, and not as a licensed general contractor because I own the house (although I am registered with PSL as a GC just in case I need it for something). Another question that I have is that the existing laundry room has an electrical switch and light, electrical outlet for the dryer and washer, and plumbing for the washer already inside of the room. If I slightly move them to a more convenient location, will I have to apply for a permit? Thank you for your assistance. l ark Schwartz, CCM,PMP,LEED AP Florida Licensed General Contractor CGCO26684 • Certified Construction Consultants LLC • American Property Investors LLC (214) 226-8146 CCM.PMP@amail.com APICCC2@amail.com I i 1 I
