All valves shall be readily accessible for adjustment. AUTOMATIC TWO-WAY LEVELING When applicable, an automatic two-way leveling device shall be provided so that the car will approach landing stop at reduced speed from either direction of.travel. The leveling device shall, within its zone, be entirely independent of the operating device and shall automatically stop and maintain the car approximately level +/- 1/2"within the landing, regardless of the change in load. PLUNGER The Plunger shall be accurately ground and polished seamless steel. The bottom of the plunger shall be fitted with a heavy steel disc welded in place and provided with a suitable extended edge to provide a positive stop designed to prevent the plunger from leaving the cylinder. The top of the plunger shall be provided with an internal welded steel disc. CYLINDER The Cylinder shall be machined from steel pipe with a machined flange at the upper end and a heavy steel bulkhead welded in the lower end. The cylinder shall be provided with a suitable steel fitting for connecting to oil line and with an air bleeder. The cab floor and ceiling will be constructed of no less than 1"thick wood panels. The cab will be set in a 1/4"steel reinforcing frame. 7-9 ply plywood is used for cab manufacturing. The use of MDF, particle board or other inferior substrates is not allowed in our cab construction. A note about our cabs: We build custom cabs. Every hoistway is carefully measured before and during our first installation phase. A custom cab, unlike a "prefab," should fit like a glove. Items we focus on are no less than: ■ Maximizing the hoistway size and shape allowable. ■ Perfectly aligning the edges, strike side and/or hinge side of the cab in relationship to the hoistway door jambs. ■ Maximizing the cab height. A taller cab yields a feeling of spaciousness. ■ Assuring that no equipment other than the cab can be seen from the outside or inside of the cab. ■ The ability to build your cab around obstacles that sometimes exist during construction. ■ Your cab is built in a appropriate time frame prior to installation at job site. ■ Every cab is assembled at our facility prior to being delivered. After assembly in your hoistway the cab is again inspected for perfection. ■ You, the customer, have the ability to get exactly what you want. Your design is your choice. FIXTURES Fixtures are of elevator type and are appropriately labeled as to each button or switch function. Designer options and features are available. DOOR LOCKS A combination unit system contact and lock shall be furnished for each hoistway entrance. A locking device shall prevent elevator operation unless doors are closed and prevent opening of doors when car is not at that landing. PIPE RUPTURE VALVE A pipe rupture valve prevents the car from exceeding contract speed in the down direction in the event that the oil supply line has failed. PALM BEACH LIFTS, INC.
