To Mr.Doug Harvey,
Stuart Roof Repair was asked to give a proposal to repair a situation of concern. The
contractor sent to the home owner; stated the job was too small.The problem was at chimney cap
and-upper portion of chimney box,-was falling-apart. The-flag-stone,-was-falling off the=box;
plywood starting to warp and pull apart.No water was entering the interior. The damager was in
the falling of stone or further damage by flying debris coming off chimney.
Stuart Roof Repair Inc. has for years, pulled skylights, chases, and all kinds of penetrations
through roof and close up said openings.The different of a pulled skylight,to that of a closed off
chimney box which does not penetrate the interior of home. Which does not draw air through
said chimney box. The box being encased in stone and dry wall, (i.e.) the situation was what is
called "encased in place". The fire box and tube were closed up, in a box structure, which was
encased in stone and dry wall. The actual chimney box is closed off,and our roof repair made the
situation and condition of the problem better, because now there was no hole in roof.
The home is addressed to the city of Jensen Beach,we have later found the home to be inSt.
Lucie County. The area of repair is under 100 square feet. Stuart Roof Repair has on several
occasion closed off skylights and chase-opening. It was our honest option that removing the
danger of falling debris and fully closing off the roof would be beneficial and safer.
Stuart Roof Repair is asking for your consideration this one time. The chimney is fully
incased in place, to cut a hole into the chimney box structure to cap a non-functioning chimney
tube,which is locked off from the main house,would be of little serviceable use.
Stuart Roof Repair is willing-to meet with a building inspector or go over the picture we have
supplied. We are willing to meet at the home and allow for examination of the element shown in
pictures.

We hereby submit specifications and estimates for:
Roofing contractor to obtain scaffolding and assemble over upstairs breezeway,in front of gable.(see work drawing)Scaffolding will allow access to
area of concern. Because of the steep roof pitch,access is restricted.To break down,and strip flag stone,30#felt,and metal chimney cap. To remove
plywood,2x4 structure,and any and all bracing. To make location of demolition,smooth and workable.Hauling away all trash and debris.To install
sheeting,dry in,and installation of dimensional shingles where having been pulled for repair.
Price$2,285.00
*NOTE:
Should woodwork be required,said woodwork will be figured as time and material.Labor @$90.00 per man-hour and material @$cost plus
20%. Woodwork outlined above is included in proposal price of$2,285.00. Should unforeseen,not figured for additional work be required,
said would work will be priced per the above time and material basis.
*NOTE:
It is understood color/style variations may occur between replacement shingles and existing weathered shingle roof.
*NOTE:
It is understood the scaffolding,will have to be secured for safety.Two(2)eye bolts will be installed on both sides of the chimney structure
under gable.There will be cleats installed on the breezeway shingle roof.All holes will be repaired with a sealant.It is understood grass/ground
maybe damaged during trash removal.Trash will have to be dropped from second story level.

WARRANTY:
Warranty is for 2 years.Said warranty is for actual repair surface being installed.Warranty is narrow in scope;NO stated or inferred liability is
assumed for roof/roofs as a whole.
Payment schedule:
Deposit of 1/3 and 1/3 of remaining balance due upon start of job and balance upon completion of job.
