Certification of structural Conformance New Seawall Cap
602 Willows Ave.
I ,
I
Dear Saint Lucie County Building Official:
Please accept the following response to your plan review comments for the aforementioned
project:
1. Comment: Please provide a structural analysis of the existing seawall, provide evidence
that it will support the new structure.
Response: Based on te Building Official's expressed concern, an additional field
inspection was held w1ith the contractor on 1/5/21 to reassess the site conditions. It was
determined that due i o the substantial digging by what must be hundreds of land crabs
on the land side of the existing seawall, ballast rock and/or 57-stone shall be placed and
compacted behind the existing seawall to ensure adequate compaction is available to
support the cantileve load of the proposed seawall cap. The stone shall also prevent
further land crab excavation to ensure the continued integrity of the proposed seawall
cap. I wish to reiterate, per my design, the existing seawall will not support any loading
by the prosed seawall cap.'Furthermore, the proposed seawall cap has been adequately
reinforced to cantilever over the existing seawall.
Thank you for your diligence and please feel free to contact me at (772) 267-1399 with any
comments or concerns that you may have.
