The fasteners shall be located 1- inch from the edge of the flange and 5.5-inches o.c. along all four sides of the vent. All loosened shingles shall be adhered down with roof cement/mastic. When nails are used to attach the vent, all penetrations through the vent flange shall be sealed using ASTM D 4586 or ASTM D 3409, Type 1 roofing cement/mastic.
