Thefollowing notes apply to the systems outlined herein:
1. The roof system evaluation herein'pertains to above-deck roof components. Roof decks'and structural members shall be In accordance with FBC requirements to the satisfaction of the:AHJ...Load resistance,of the
roof deck shall be documented through proper codified and/or FBC Approval documentation.
2. Insulation/base sheet fasteners shall be of sufficient length for the following deck engagement:
S Wood: Minimum,0.75-inch penetration.
➢Steel: Minimum 0.75-inch penetration and engage the top flute of the steel deck«
i Concrete: Minimum 1-inch embedment'into pilot hole in accordance with-fastener manufacturers published installation instructions;
3. Unless otherwise noted, insulation may be any one layer or combination of polyisocyanurate, polystyrene;wood fiberboard,,perlite,gypsum-based roof board'or mineral-wool roof board that meets the OA
requirements of F.A.C.Rule 61G20-3 and is documented as meeting FBC 1505.1 and,for foam plastic,FBC Chapter 26,when installed with the roof cover.
4. .Minimum.200 psi;.minimum 2-fnch thick lightweight insulating concrete may be substituted for rigid insulation board for System Type D(mechanically attached base sheet, bonded roof cover),whereby the base
sheet fasteners are installed through the LWIC to engage the structural steel or concrete deck: The structural deck shall be of equal or greater configuration to the steel and concrete deck listings. Roof decks and
structural'members shall b'ein'accordance with FBC requirements.to•the'satisfaction of the'AM.'Load resistance of the roof deck shall be documented through proper'codiffedand/or FBC Approval documentation.

7. Bonded polyisocyanurate insulation boards.shall be maximum x 4Yt.
8. For mechanically attached components or partially bonded insulation'the maximum design pressure for the selected assembly shall meet or exceed the Zone 1 design pressure determined in accordance with FBC'
Chapter 16,and Zones 2 and 3 shall employ an attachment density designed bya qualified design professional to resist the elevated pressure criteria. Commonly used methods are RAS 117 and FM LPDS 1.29:
Assemblies marked with an asterisk'carry the limitations set forth in Section 2.2.1.5.1(a)of FM LPDS 1-29 for Zone 2/3 enhancements.
1 For fully bonded assemblies, the maximum design pressure for the selected assemblyshall meet orexceed critical designpressure determined In accordance with FBC Chapter 16,and no rational analysis is permitted.
10. For mechanically'attached components over existing decks, fasteners shall be tested in the existing deck for withdrawal resistance. A qualified design professional shall review the data'for comparison to the
minimum requirements for the system. Testing and analysis shall be in accordance with TAS 105 or ANSI/SPRI FX-1.
11. For existing;substrates in'a bonded recover installation, the existing roof.system shall be examined for compatibility and bond performance with the, selectedadhesive, and theexisting roofsystem shall;be.capable of
resisting project design pressures on its own merit to the satisfaction of the AHJ,as documented through field uplift testing in accordance with ASTM E907,FM LPDS 1-52,ANSI/SPRI IA-1 or TAS 124.
12. For Recover Applications using System Type D,the insulation is optional;however;the existing roof system shall be sultable fora recover application: •

5.6.4 Wind Resistance for Underlayment Systems in Foam-On Tile Applications: FRSA/TR1 April 2012 (04-12)
does not address wind uplift resistance of'all underlayment systems beneath foam-on tile systems, where
the underlayment forms part of the load-path. The following wind uplift limitations apply to direct-deck
underlayment systems that are not addressed in FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12)and are used in foam-on the
applications: Maximum Design Pressure is the result of testing for wind load resistance based on
allowable evvind loads, and reflects the ultimate passing pressure divided by 2(the 2 to 1 margin of safety
per FBC 1504.9 has already been applied). Refer to FBC 1609 for determination of design wind pressures.
5.6.4.1 Maximum Design Pressure=-45.0 osf.
Deck: Min.15/32-inch plywood to meet project requirements to satisfaction of AHJ.
Primer: (Optional)ASTM D41
Underlayment: Tri-Built S/A HT TU Undertayment,self-adhered.
5.7 Exposure Limitations:
5.7.1 Tri-Built Sano-R SA Shingle Underlayment or Tri-Built Smooth HT S/A Underlayment shall not be left
exposed for longer than 30-days after installation
5.7.2 Tri-Built S/A HT TU Underlayment shall not be left exposed for longer than 180-days after installation.
6. INSTALLATiON:
6.1 TRI-BUILT Roof Underlayments shall be installed in accordance with TRI-BUILT published installation
requirementsjsubject to the Limitations set forth in Section 5 herein and the specifics noted below:
6.2 Re-fasten any loose decking panels, and check for protruding nail heads. Sweep the substrate, thoroughly
to remove any dust and debris prior to application, and prime the substrate(if applicable).
6.3 Tri Built Sand-R SA Shingle Underlayment Tri-Built SIA HT TU Underlayment or Tri-Built Smooth HT SIA
Underlayment:
6.3.1 Shall be insta j lled'in compliance with the requirements for ASTM D1970 underlayment in FBC Sections
1507 for the type of prepared roof covering to be installed.
6.3.2 Non-Tile applications:
While priming;is optional,TRI-BUILT recommends priming the deck if the final roof cover is not slated for
installation within 24 hours.
Apply sheet parallel to the roof edge. Roll out approximately 10 ft of membrane and peel back the.first 3
ft of release film.
Adhere the.exposed part to the substrate and unroll the remaining membrane as far as possible.
once the entire length of membrane is in place, peel-off the release film diagonally while holding the
membrane tight. Firmly roll the membrane into place to achieve a bond.
Horizontal seams should be minimum 3-inches, configured to shed water. Vertical seams should be 6-
inches and staggered not less than 2-ft from vertical seams in the course below. Allover-granule end-laps
shall be sealedlusing either heat-welding or hot air welding techniques.
When installing at slopes above 8:12, Allied Building Products Corp recommends back-nailing in the
overlap area at,the top of the sheet at 12-inch o.c.
For Valleys and)Ridges: Cut underlayment into 4 to 6 foot lengths.Peel the release paper and center sheet
over valley or ridge. Drape and press sheet into place, working from the center of the valley or ridge in
each direction. For valleys,,appiy the sheet starting at the lowest point and work upward.
6.3.3 Tile Applications fTri-Built S/A HT TU Underlayment only):
Reference is made to FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12) Installation Manual and Table 1 herein, using the
