ATTENTION
The 5m Edition of the Florida Energy Code went into effect June 30, 2015. In accordance with the
new Florida Energy Code, the following changes and requirements for new construction and
replacement windows, doors and skylights are listed below. Mobile homes are not required to
meet the requirements of the 5' Edithion of the Flodda Energy Code.
Windows and Doors will be required to meet the U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain
Coefficient (SHGC) required in section 402 of the 5' Edition of the Florida Energy
Code for climate zone 2. Opaque doors up to 24 sq. foot are exempt Per R402.3.4 of
the 5t° Edition of the Florida Energy Code. All labels showing manufactures U-
Factor Rating and Solar Beat Gain Coefficient will be required to be left on
windows and doors until window/door inspection is completed.

b. The fenestration U-factor column excludes skylights. The SHGC column applies to all glazed fenestration.
Exception: Skylights may be excluded from glazed Fenestration SHGC requirements in Climate Zones I through 3
where the SHGC for such skylights does not exceed 0.30.
j. For impact rated fenestration complying with Section R301.2.1.2 of the Florida Building Code, Residential or
Section 1609.1.2 of the Florida Building Code, Building the maximum U-factor sball be 0.75 in Climate Zone I suit
0.65 in Climate Zone 2.
