Pierce, Florida 34945 5785 Hickory Drive Fort Pierce, Florida 2102-0679 As requested, we tested the compacted fill for the Pad. Mailing PO Box 78-1377 Sebastian, FL. 32978 Phone: 772-589-0712 C.A.# 5693 KSMengineering.net KSM JOB # : 213180-1d/JM/bm To determine if the fill was properly compacted on the pad to a depth of 3 feet, we performed nucleardensity tests on the top two feet. To estimate the soil density below a depth of 2 feet we used a Static Cone Penetrometer. During the tests, a shaft with a conical point is pushed through soil and the soil resistance measured on a calibrated gauge. After the soil resistance is measured, the hole is advanced with a hand -auger in 1-foot increments to permit a continuation of measurement of density versus depth. Test Results: Nuclear density tests performed on the top 2 feet indicates the compaction exceeds the project specifications of 95% (ASTM 1557). Static Cone Penetrometer readings indicate the compacted backfill below 2 feet are generally well compacted to a depth of 3 feet. Based on the nuclear density tests and Static Cone Penetrometer readings, it appears the fill on the house pad was properly compacted.
