The manufacturer commonly specifies frame tie straps with a range of acceptable angles to resist wind. Installers and inspection personnel should ensure that the angle of the anchoring strap is within the range specified in the manufacturer's installation instr3ctioas and it is usuauy between 40 to 50 degrees. SthiHzer pthes All diagonal or frame ties anchors shall have stabilizing devices approved by the department, each of which shall have a mininum surface area of I 80 square inches and shall be coated with hot-dkyped zinc galvanizing, .60 ounces per square foot or zinc coated. The stabilizing device shall be installed with the top of the stabilizing device flush with the soil to prevent the anchor from slicing through the soft. The anchor chaff win be centered with stabilizer plate and win rest against the plate. Stabilizer devices are not required at vertieal tie-clowns that have no diagonal/franc tie attached.
