REINFORCED MASONRY NOTES
1. DESIGN OF THE REINFORCED MASONRY IS BASED ON THE BUILDING
CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR MASONRY STRUCTURES (ACI 530) AND
THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR MASONRY STRUCTURES (ACI 530.1).
2. CONCRETE BLOCK SHALL BE NEW AND UNDAMAGEDANDCONFORM
TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF ASTM C90, F'M = 1900 PSI MIN. BLOCK
IS TO BE HANDLED AND STORED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO AND
CONTAMINATION OF THE UNITS.
3. MORTAR TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF ASTM C270, TYPE
M OR S. MORTAR TO BE TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM
C1314 AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROJECT AND AT EVERY 5000 SF
