The documentation submitted has been reviewed and accepted by Miami-Dade County RER - Product Control Section to be used in Miami Dade County and other areas where allowed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). This NOA shall not be valid after the expiration date stated below. The Miami-Dade County Product Control Section (In Miami Dade County) and/or the AHJ (in areas other than Miami Dade County) reserve the right to have this product or material tested for quality assurance purposes. If this product or material fails to perform in the accepted manner, the manufacturer will incur the expense of such testing and the AHJ may immediately revoke, modify, or suspend the use of such product or material within their jurisdiction. RER reserves the right to revoke this acceptance, if it is determined by Miami-Dade County Product Control Section that this product or material fails to meet the requirements of the applicable building code. This product is approved as described herein, and has been designed to comply with the Florida Building Code including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code. DESCRIPTION: VentSure® 4-Foot Strip Heat and Moisture Ridge Vents, VentSure® 4-Foot Strip Heat and Moisture Ridge Vents with Weather PROtector® Moisture Barrier, VentSure® Sky Runner LTE® Roll Vent. LABELING: Each unit shall bear a permanent label with the manufacturer's name or logo, city, state and following statement: "Miami-Dade County Product Control Approved", unless otherwise noted herein. RENEWAL of this NOA shall be considered after a renewal application has been filed and there has been no change in the applicable building code negatively affecting the performance of this product. TERMINATION of this NOA will occur after the expiration date or if there has been a revision or change in the materials, use, and/or manufacture of the product or process. Misuse of this NOA as an endorsement of any product, for sales, advertising or any other purposes shall automatically terminate this NOA. Failure to comply with any section of this NOA shall be cause for termination and removal of NOA. ADVERTISEMENT: The NOA number preceded by the words Miami-Dade County, Florida, and followed by the expiration date may be displayed in advertising literature. If any portion of the NOA is displayed, then it shall be done in its entirety. INSPECTION: A copy of this entire NOA shall be provided to the user by the manufacturer or its distributors and shall be available for inspection at the job site at the request of the Building Official. The slot shall terminate approximately 6” from the rake edges. Installation: Apply a ¼” bead of approved roofing cement along the entire length of the outside edges of the vent to seal the vent to the field shingles. Center the vent over the opening and fasten to the deck using the Ventsure Nails or corrosion resistant 11 ga. 2 ½” galvanized ring shank nails. Fasteners are placed on both sides of the vent at 1”, 12”, 24”, 36”, and 47” from the start of each vent piece. Nails shall be of sufficient length to penetrate through the sheathing a minimum of 3/16”. Prepare the adjacent vent section by applying the roofing cement along the edges, snap together with fixed vent, and fasten to the deck in the same manner as the first section. Fasten the ridge shingles over the vent to the deck on the marked “shingle nail line” with (2) Ventsure nails per shingle or in accordance with the shingle manufacturer’s approved Notice of Acceptance. Outside edges of the shingles are to be sealed with and approved flashing cement. Ventilation Calculations: Refer to manufacturer’s published literature for net free area. Opening (5/8 ”on each side of the ridge) centered in the deck at the ridge for ventilation. The slot shall terminate approximately 6” from the rake edges. Installation: Apply a ¼” bead of approved roofing cement along the entire length of the outside edges of the vent to seal the vent to the field shingles. Center the vent over the opening and fasten to the deck using the corrosion resistant 12 ga. 2” galvanized ring shank nails .Fasteners are placed on both sides of the vent at molded location (4 per linear ft.) Remove any slack from the vent and nail the vent every 6 in. nailing from one side of the vent than the other. Nails shall be of sufficient length to penetrate through the sheathing a minimum of 3/16”. Prepare the adjacent vent section by applying the roofing cement along the edges, snap together with fixed vent, and fasten to the deck in the same manner as the first section. Fasten the ridge cap shingles over the vent to the deck on the marked “shingle nail line” with (2) nails per shingle or in accordance with the shingle manufacturer’s approved Notice of Acceptance. Outside edges of the shingles are to be sealed with and approved flashing cement. End plugs are built into the vent every 12 in. The vent should always begin and end with an end plug. The installation shall be applied in compliance with the manufacturer's current published application instruction and the requirements set forth in applicable building code. 3. VentSure® 4-Foot Strip Heat and Moisture RidgeVent (with or without Weather PROtector® Moisture Barrier)and Sky Runner LTE® Roll Vent is approved to be installed over asphalt shingles only . 4. VentSure® 4-Foot Strip Heat and Moisture RidgeVent (with or without Weather PROtector® Moisture Barrier) and Sky Runner LTE® Roll Vent shall not be installed on roof mean heights greater than 75 ft. 5. All products listed herein shall have a quality assurance audit in accordance with the Florida Building Code and Rule 61G20-3 of the Florida Administrative Code. 6. All plastic ridge vents manufacturers shall have an unannoucned follow-up quality control program from an approved listing agency. Follow-up test results shall be made available to Miami-Dade Product Control Office upon request. 7. All approved products listed herein shall be labeled and shall bear the imprint or identifiable marking of the manufacturer's name or logo, city and state of manufacturing facility, and following statement: "Miami-Dade County Product Control Approved" or the Miami-Dade County Product Control Seal as shown below.
