3.0 WORKMANSHIP AND FINISH
3.3 Surface Test Pass
Unit shall be free of cracks, chipped areas and blisters. The number of
molding and other defects or blemishes shall not exceed those given in
Table 1 of the referenced standard.
3.4 Subsurface Test Pass
No visual blemishes or voids larger than 1116 of an inch in diameter
shall be observed below the surface finish.
4.0 STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
4.2 Drain Ruing Connection Test Pass.
During and after the application of 50 pounds by using a 24 inch lever
arm in three radial positions, no cracks shall be observed around the
drain opening. During the load application in the three positions, no
leaks shall be observed.
4.3 Point impact Load Test Pass
After the impact of a 1'A inch, half -pound steel ball from a height of 36
inches and 24 inches, no cracks or chips shall be observed in any of the
surface.areas tested.

Wear & Cleanability Test
A. Wear
The surface finish of the three test samples shall not wear
through to the supporting subsurfaces after 10,000 scrub
cycles with an abrasive slurry solution.
Cleanability
The average absolute loss of white light reflectance after
application and removal of standard dirt with liquid detergent
shall not exceed 5Z percent. The average absolute loss of
white -light reflectance after additional cleaning with an
abrasive slurry solution shall not exceed 2.0 percent.

5A Cigarette Test
After contact with three lighted cigarettes, the test sample shall show
no ignition, progressive glow, or unrepairable damage.. Damage to

The surface finish shall be unaffected by the 12 reagents used. Any
superFicial surface change shall be easily repairable by using

5.7 Thermal Shock Resistance - Types 2,3;4,5 and 6 Pass
No cracking, crazing, blistering, spalling or delamination shall be
observed at the coriclusion of testing. The unit shall pass the ANSI
requirement of 250 cycles.
6.1 Water Resistance Test -.Types 1,2 and 3 pass
The water resistance rating is determined by evaluating each test
sample, after 100 hours of exposure to elevated, water temperature,
(Types 1 & a-150°F, Type 2 - 2121,F), for color change,, blistering,
change in surface profile, cracks and loss of visible gloss.
The water resistance rating for each of the samples tested shalt not
exceed the maximum allowable water resistance rating of 9. Each of
the five types of failures shall not exceed the individual maximum
allowable, rating of 4.

4.0 MARKING AND LABELING
4.1 Factory Assembled Units Pass
Label shall be affixed to the exterior and adjacent. to the waste and
overflow which states, in 3/16 inch high letters:
TUB SHALL BE TESTED FILL THE TUB WITH WATER TO
OVERFLOW DURING ROUGH INSPECTION AND INSPECT FOR
LEAKS.

2.1 Materials pass
Materials used in the construction of the unit shall be suitable for
application in a plumbing fixture. The unit shall also comply with the
requirements of ANSI Z124.1.2 and ASMF Al 12.19.7 if applicable.
2.2 Door Pass
The bathtub door shall meet .the per ormance criteria detailed in
section 3.
2.3 Electrical Components Pass
Electrical components shall comply with the applicable sections of
UL1795.
2.4 Door & Seals
Pass
The door shah have either a primary and secondary seal or a primary
seal with adequate means for drainage.
2.5 Primary Seal Materials Pass
Materials used for the primary seal shall conform with the following
requirements from ASTM D2000. Heat Aged for 70 hours at 257`F.
Shall have a maximum water absorption of no more than 5% when
exposed to 212°F water for 70 hours. Shall have a minimum tear
resistance of 14 kN/m.
3.i Secondary Seal N/S
The secondary seal, if used, shall have a leakage of not more than 0.5
gal in 20 minutes when the unit is filled to the overflow and the primary
seal has been disabled.
3.2 Door Load Test Pass
The door shall withstand a 300 pound load with a deflection of less
than 0.625". No cracking is permitted.

3.3 Door Cycle Test on Primary Seal Pass
The door shalt be cycled 20,000 times and, then the unit filled with
water. No leaking of the primary seal is permitted.
3.4 Door Cycle Test on Secondary Seal NIA
With the primary seal disabled, the door shall be cycled 20,.000 times
and then the unit filled with water. The secondary seal shall have a
leakage rate of no more than 0.5 gallons in 20 minutes.
4. Marking'Pass
The unit shall be marked with the manufacturer's name or trademark,
model number, and markings as required by other standards.
The unit was not damaged during shipping and it did not appear that the unit was tampered
with prior to arrival. These tests were performed under the direct and continuous supervision
of laboratory personnel. The plastic walk-in bathtub unit with hydromassage system; as
tested, passed all the sections of the ANSI Z1.24.1.2, ASME A112.19.7, and ASME
Al 12.19.15 standards as detailed in. this report..
