CODES AND STANDARDS
1. THE PROJECT WAS DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODES:
I.I. FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING & EXISTING; 7TH EDITION; 2020, ASCE 7-16, ASD, &
AISC
2. DRAWING NOTES:
2.1. BEFORE ORDERING ANY MATERIALS OR DOING ANY WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
VERIFY ALL MEASUREMENTS TO PROPERLY SIZE OR FIT THE WORK. NO EXTRA CHARGE
OR COMPENSATION WILL BE ALLOWED BY THE OWNER RESULTING FROM THE
CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT.
2.2. DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT AND
ENGINEER BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH ANY WORK.
3. SECTIONS AND DETAILS:
3.1. ALL DETAILS, SECTIONS AND NOTES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE INTENDED TO BE
TYPICAL AND SHALL APPLY TO SIMILAR SITUATIONS ELSEWHERE UNLESS OTHERWISE
SHOWN.
4. SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS AS REQUIRED. ALL SUBMITTALS SHALL BE CHECKED AND SIGNED BY
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND SIGNED AND SEALED BY THE DELEGATED ENGINEER.
5. IF ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS APPEAR IN THE DRAWING
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER -OF -RECORD IN WRITING OF SUCH
OMISSIONS OR ERRORS PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH ANY WORK WHICH APPEARS IN QUESTION.
IN THE EVENT THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILING TO GIVE SUCH NOTICE, HE SHALL BE HELD
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESULTS OF ANY SUCH ERRORS OR OMISSIONS AND THE COST OF
RECTIFYING THE SAME.
6. INFORMATION FOR THE LAYOUT AND DESIGN OF THESE PLANS WERE EXTRACTED FROM
FIELD MEASUREMENTS AND EXISTING DRAWINGS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT EXISTING FIELD CONDITIONS TO ENSURE PRESENT INFORMATION
ON PLANS MATCH. IF EXISTING CONDITIONS DIFFER FROM PLANS, 'GENERAL' NOTE 1 ABOVE ,
SHALL ALSO APPLY.
DEMOLITION:
1. PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF DEMOLITION THE CONTRACTOR WILL COORDINATE HIS
ACTIVITIES WITH ALL THE APPROPRIATE SUB -CONTRACTORS AFFECTED BY THIS AREA
2. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO COMPLETELY REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ALL MATERIALS
THAT ARE SO INDICATED INCLUDING CONCRETE AND WOOD.
3. THE LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES ARE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY.
THE ENGINEER ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR EXACT LOCATIONS. PRIOR TO THE
START OF DEMOLITION THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND DETERMINE THE
LOCATION AND THE EXISTENCE OF ALL STRUCTURES AND UTILITIES SHOWN OR NOT ON
THE PLANS.

FAMILIARIZED HIMSELF WITH ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS. ANY QUESTIONS OR DISCREPANCIES
FOUND WITH REGARD TO THE DRAWINGS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
BUILDING ENGINEER BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL FIELD MEASURE EXISTING CONDITIONS
PRIOR TO FABRICATION OF ALL MATERIALS.
5. ALL DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS SHALL BE FIELD
