All,
We have a permit in for a pedestrian bridge at Petravice Preserve. Do they need a vegetation removal/exemption
permit?
Thank you,

This letter is in response to your email dated May 17, 2021, concerning the proposed Petravice
Preserve Pedestrian Bridge to be constructed across the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, White
City, Florida. The proposed bridge would be located approximately at lat/long 27.3623172,
-80.3455194.
The Coast Guard has determined that the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, at the site of the
proposed pedestrian bridge, meets the criteria for advance approval per 33 CFR 115.70. A Coast
Guard bridge permit will 'not be required for the proposed pedestrian bridge. Although an
individual Coast Guard bridge permit is not required, the following stipulations apply:
1. You must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
2. Upon completion of construction provide, to this office, an electronic set of "as -built"
drawings that include horizontal and vertical clearance of the bridge across the waterway.
3. When the bridge is no longer used for transportation purposes, it must be removed in its
entirety and you must notify the Coast Guard that the waterway has been cleared.
This advance approval determination will not necessarily apply to future modifications of this
bridge or the construction of other bridges along this waterway. Waterway usage may change
over time and increased activity along this waterway could remove it from the Advance
Approval category. If construction of this bridge is not commenced within 3 years from the date
of this letter, request an updated jurisdictional determination from this office.
If you have any questions concerning this determination please email Andi.Marisguscg.mil.
Sincerely,
RANDALL D. OVERTON, MPA
