UNIRAC SOLAR MOUNT UNIVERSAL INSTALLATION PLAN
1. ELECTRICAL PLAN IS SEPARATELY SEALED DOCUMENT.
2. THERE SHALL BE PC MODULE TO RAIL MOUNTING CLAMP AT EVERY/RAILCROSSING POINT WITH A MINIMUM OF 4
CLAMPS. SEE CLAMP DETAILS FOR MINIMUM CLAMP SPACING FOR EACH ZONE. FOR CLAMPS ANCHORED TO EXISTING
TRUSS WITH SPACING GREATERTHAN THE EXISTING TRUSS SPACING CONTRACTOR WILLADD NEW SOUTHERN PINE
2X4 BETWEEN TRUSSES AND NAIL WITH 2-16D NAIL PATTER AT EACH END OF WOOD TRUSS.
3. PER MODULE ADJOINING MODULES SHALL SHARE MID CLAMPS.
4. PV MOUNTING RAILS SHALL BE INSTALLED PERPENDICULAR TO ROOF FRAMING.
S. THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF TWO RAILS UNDER EACH PV MODULE. ADDITIONAL RAIL MAY MID ADDED AS A
OPTION TO INCREASE CLAMP SPACING
6. RAILS SHALL NOT CANTILEVER BEYOND OUTSIDE OF END ROOF ATTACHMENT MORE THAN V-O"
7. RAILS SHALL ATTACH TO ROOF THRU L-FEETAS SHOWN. L-FEET REQUIRE FLASHING OVER ATTACHMENTS LAGGED INTO

9. LONG-L-FEET & OR STANDOFFS ARE PERMITTED AS NEEDED FOR ROOF CLEARANCE.
NOTES:
1. BOLT DIAMETER AND EMBEDMENT LENGTHS ARE DESIGNED PER 2020 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (7TH EDITION)
REQUIREMENTS. ALL BOLT APACITI ES ARE BASED ON A SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE (SYP) RESIDENTIAL WOOD ROOF
TRUSS AS EMBEDMENT MATERIAL.
2. ROOF SEALANTS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM C920 AND ASTM 6511, AND IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR
TO PILOT FILL ALL HOLES.
3. THIS SHEET REFLECTS STRUCTURAL CONNECTIONS ONLY. REFER TO MANUFACTURER MANUAL FOR ALL
ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND SOLAR SPECS.
4. ALLALUMINUM COMPONENTS SHALL BE ANODIZED ALUMINUM 6105-15 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
5. LAG BOLTS SHALL BE ASTM A276 STAINLESS STEEL UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
6. ALL SOLAR RAILING AND MODULES SHALL BE INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE ALL ROOF PENETRATIONS TO BE INSTALLED AND SEALED PER 2020 FLORIDA BUILDING
CODE (6TH EDITION) OR LOCAL GOVERNING CODE.
8. INSTALLATION OF MODULES SHALL BE LOCATED IN ROOF WIND ZONE 1 AND 2. WIND ZONE 3 REQUIRES SITE SPECIFIC
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS APPROVAL
9. PV PANEL SUPPORT DESIGN IS BASED ON TRUSS AND OR RAFTERS SPACED AT A MAXIMUM SPACING OF 2'-0".
INSTALLER WILL INSPECT ROOF TRUSS OR RAFTERS VIA ACCESS THRU THE ATTIC AND VERIFY THE CONDITION OF
THE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS FOR SPACING, CORROSION, CRACKS, OR DETERIORATION. CONDITION OF
CONNECTIONS BETWEEN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS WILL ALSO BE VERIFIED FOR CORROSION.
