requirements for the following roofing items for the commercial building located at 4461 South 25th Street, Fort
Pierce, Fl 34981.
The following wind criteria and nominal components and cladding wind uplift pressures were used to calculate
the attachment of the following roofing items; 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code, ASCE 7-16, Wind
Speed: 170 mph (Vult) and 131.7 mph (Vasd), Risk Category III, Exposure B, Internal Pressure Coefficient:
+/- 0.18 (Enclosed) and a mean roof height of <= 30-feet.
Zone 1 and 2e are -47.3 psf, Zone 2n, 2r, and 3e are -69.0 psf, and Zone 3r is -82.0 psf. All zones 2 and 3
are defined as a=3-feet and measured from the edges and corners of the building; see the simplified wind
schematic below. The roof framing is designed for a dead load of 15 psf and a live load of 20 psf.
1. The 2x4xcont (flatwise) roof joist are spaced at 28-inches on center, supported by the existing roof
trusses that are spaced at 4-feet on center.
All Zones Provide a minimum of (2) #14x4-1/2-inch wood screws at every support. The 4-1/2-inch
fastener shall provide a minimum of 2-inch embedment into the existing roof trusses.
2. 5/8-inch CDX (APA 40/20 Rated) plywood attached to existing 2x4xcont roof joist using common 8d-
2-3/8-inch ring-shank nails. The nails shall be corrosion resistant.

The plywood sheathing can be applied either parallel or perpendicular to the 2x4xcont supports.
3. Extrememetal Fabricators 26-gauge 5V metal roof panel fasten to the 5/8-inch CDX plywood roof
deck using #9x1.5-inch HWH screws with self-sealing washers (Florida Product Approval No 17022.01, -
86 psf). The fasteners shall be corrosion resistant and penetrate beyond the plywood roof sheathing a
minimum of 3/16-inch. The attachment of the fastener to the plywood roof sheathing shall be as follows:
