Dear Travis:
Commercial-Residential Structural Engineering, Inc. (CRSE) is pleased to provide this report on the fastening
requirements for the following roofing items for the building located at 7380 South Ocean Dr, Jensen Beach, Fl
34957.
The following wind criteria and nominal components and cladding wind pressures were used to calculate the
attachment for the following roof items: 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code and ASCE 7-16, Wind Speed
163 mph (Vult) and 126.3 mph (Vasd), Risk Category II, Exposure D, mean roof height 96-feet, and an Internal
Pressure Coefficient: +/- 0.18 (Enclosed).
Nominal Roof components and Cladding Pressures; Zone 1 is -78.0 psf, Zone 2 is -122.4 psf, and Zone 3 is -
166.8 psf. Zones 2 and 3 are defined as being a=5.5-feet and 2a=11-feet, measured from the edges and
corners of the building; see the simplified wind schematic below.
Nominal Wall Components and Cladding Pressures; Zone 4 is +53.3/-53.3 psf, and Zone 5 is +53.3/-97.7 psf.

1. Petersen 0.032 aluminum 18-inch max (W) x 1.75-inch (H) Snap-Clad metal panel attached to the
existing plywood deck using #10 wood screws (NOA 19-1028.15). The fasteners shall be corrosion
resistant and penetrate the plywood roof deck 3/16-inch or three full threads beyond the material. The
attachment of the panel clips to the plywood roof deck shall be as follows:
The parapet roof has a roof angle is greater than 45-degrees, and shall be treated as a wall pressure, Zones 4
and 5.
Zone 4 - Provide (2) fasteners per clip, with the clip spaced at 24-inches on center.
Zone 5 - Provide (2) fasteners per clip, with the clip spaced at 20-inches on center.
2. Coping and Flashing
0.032 Top Aluminum Coping attachment to the existing wood blocking. All Zones - The coping shall be
snapped down to the front 0.40 cleat and fastened at the back of the coping to the wood blocking with a
#10x1-1/2-inch S.S screw with a self-sealing washer at 12-inches on center. The front cleat shall be fastened
to the wood blocking with (2) 0.131x1-1/2-inch S.S. rink-shanked nails at 12-inches, placed on the front and
top side of the wood blocking.
0.032 Bottom Flashing attachment to the existing wood framing and red iron. All Zones - The flashing
shall be attached to the wood framing with 0.131x1-1/2-inch S.S. ring shanked nails and ¼-14 Blazer S.S.
screws at 12-inches on center.
