PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURAL SYSTEM TO
DETERMINE IF THIS IS A TENSIONED STRUCTURE.
All work shall comply with the Florida Building Code Sixth Edition (2020), Building, Existing Building,
Fuel Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing, Accessibility.
FLORIDA BUILDING CODE EXISTING
302.3 EXISTING MATERIALS. Materials already in use in a building in compliance with requirements or
approvals in effect at the time of their erection or installation shall be permitted to remain in use unless
determined by the building official to be unsafe.
702.6 MATERIALS AND METHODS. All new work shall comply with the materials and methods
requirements in the Florida building code, building; Florida building code, energy conservation; Florida
building code, mechanical; and Florida building code, plumbing, as applicable, that specify material
standards, detail of installation and connection, joints, penetrations, and continuity of any element,
component, or system in the building.
703.1 GENERAL. Alterations shall be done in a manner that maintains the level of fire protection
provided.
FLORIDA BUILDING CODE
GYPSUM BOARD, GYPSUM PANEL PRODUCTS AND PLASTER
2506.2 STANDARDS. Gypsum board and gypsum panel products shall conform to the appropriate
standards listed in Table 2506.2 and Chapter 35 and, where required for fire protection, shall conform to
the provisions of Chapter 7.
2508.1 GENERAL. Gypsum board, gypsum panel products and gypsum plaster construction shall be of
the materials listed in Tables 2506.2 and 2507.2. These materials shall be assembled and installed in
compliance with the appropriate standards listed in Tables 2508.1 and 2511.1.1 and Chapter 35.
