Aquatherm / Calorex Pool Heat Pumps designed and built the first swimming pool heat pump as an economical way to heat a
pool. Over the years we have relentlessly pursued improving our products. Our latest models are the finest units we have ever
offered.
In 2021, Aquatherm introduced the Whisper Heat AT150 Heat & Cool Model alongside the AT150 Heat Only Model. The new
Heat & Cool unit includes a reversing valve that switches from heating mode to cooling mode with the push of a button. The
upgraded cooling mode is a refreshing option for unscreened pools that tend to run up to 6 degrees warmer. When paired with
the PoolSync smartphone app, you can keep your pool at a consistent comfortable temperature and extend your swim season.
HOW HEAT PUMP WORKS
The Aquatherm heat pump utilizes proven refrigerant
technology to capture the heat in the outside air and
transfer it to the pool water. The fan circulates air across
the evaporator coil and the liquid refrigerant absorbs
heat from the ambient air, transforming it into a gas.
Warm ,Air in
The gas is then pumped into the compressor, superheat-
ing it. The intensely hot gas is then pumped into the heat
exchanger where the heat transfer takes place. As the
pool water passes through the heat exchanger, the hot
gas gives up its heat to the cooler pool water.
The refrigerant returns to a liquid state and the process
starts all over again. The result: a warm pool!

CAUTION- POOL,/SPA REFINISHING OPERATIONS
During pool refinishing or acid cleaning, the water flow through the heater must
be shut off. Water flow to the heater must remain off until water chemistry is once
again in balance and the water is clear in appearance. Failure to follow these in-
structions may void heater warranty.
CONTROL. IRRIGATION AND STORM RUN'' OFF
Control Irrigation: Irrigation Nvater spray can damage heater components.
Regardless of water quality, it is important that irrigation be directed
away from the heat pump.
Prevent rain water runoff from pouring directly into the heater. The heater is
designed to withstand normal rainfall, but solid streams of water from roof
drip -lines may eventually damage heat pump components.
If the heat pump resides beneath a roof edge, to promote heat pump longevity,
a rain leader (gutter), or rain shield, will be necessary.
MAINTAIN PROPER CLEARANCES AROUND BEATER
• For maximum efficiency, proper air flow clearances around heater must be
maintained. .
• It is important to keep the area immediately adjacent to the heat pump clear
of items such as shrubs and bushes, lawn furniture, chemicals containers. etc.
These items can prevent air from circulating fully through the heater, and will
result in inefficient operation or damage to the heat pump.
• In addition, do not place objects on top of the heat pump; doing so will block
the air from exiting the heater, and will result in damage to the compressor
and fan motor.
• Proper clearances are also necessary in order to access the heater for service.
