Letter Of Completion
Dear Building Dept. Official:
Based on the personal communications, field reports and on-site visual inspections of the roof
and attic spaces performed by the undersigned professional engineer at the above listed
property address, the re-roofing job performed by the contractor Florida Premier Roofing
followed the requirements of the current Florida Building Code (7th edition, 2020) and under
the Florida Product Approvals.
As requested, we are providing the following information of details used for the installation of
the roof at the subject noted address. This letter covers the follow ing inspections that were
completed:
a. Building Roof Deck Re-Nailing – on 9/7/2021
b. Building Roof Dry In & Flashing/Metals – on 9/7/2021.
c. Building Roof Final – on 9/15/2021.
Information of materials:
• All materials were installed to a clean, smooth decking surface.
• Decking was re-nailed every 6’’ O.C. in field and along perimeter using galvanized 8d, 2 3/8”
ring shank nails.

• Over the roof deck was installed the ABC PRO Guard 20 Synthetic Roofing waterproof
underlayment, and it is 50% overlapped to meet code. Overlaps were 3’’ onside laps following
printed guidelines and 6’’ O.C. at end laps, both per install instructions. Underlayment was
fastened every 6’’ O.C. on side and end laps and every 12’’ O.C. in the field per manufacturer
install instructions.
• Fasteners for underlayment were 1 ¼, 12-gauge electro-galvanized ring shank nails which
comply with ASTMF 1667.
• One layer of Owens Corning asphalt shingles of color Amber was installed. Those shingles
were installed in a nail pattern consistent with the manufacturer recommendations on the
packaging for 6 nail applications. This repeats for the other side. 6 nails were used per sleeve.
Nails used were smooth shank coiled electrogalvanized roo fing nails, 1 ¼’’.
• 2.5’’ white drip edge metal sheets in the shape “L” were installed on all eaves and rakes to
protect from flashing and from water beneath shingles. Overlaps were a minimum of 4’’. Nail
spacing was a maximum of 2’’ and 1 ¼” roofing nails were used. Drip edge was applied over the
underlayment. Roofing cement was applied a minimum of 4’’ over the drip edge flange. Finally,
shingles were installed on the top of all drip edge.
• 3 new lead pipe boots were installed. Roofing cement was placed on top of the underlayment
where the vent was to be placed. Vent was placed and then secured with smooth roofing nails
1 ¼’’. Top of the flange is under shingles, while the bottom rests on top.
• 1 new meter mast boot was installed.
• Owens Corning ridge ventilation was installed. Opening did not exceed 3 ¼’’. It was installed
over the main ridges of the house which exceeded this minimal requirement. Installation of
ridge vent was done using the provided 2 3/8’’ ring shanked nails into the provided targets.
Each 4’ section is snapped into each other. Vents are terminated at least 6’’ short of
intersections.
