This notice is to inform you that your property is in a Flood Hazard Zone.
All habitable structures must be elevated at or above an elevation which places the lowest
horizontal structural member above the 10.0-year storm elevation as determined by the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The minimum elevation
established by FDEP for this structure has been set at 17 feet NGVD.
Upon placement of the lowest horizontal structural member, the applicant shall submit to
the Building Official certification of the elevation of the lowest horizontal structural
member of the lowest floor as built in relation to National Geodetic Vertical Datum
(NGVD). The certification must be prepared by or under the direct supervision of a
registered land surveyor and certified by same. The Building Official shall review the
submitted elevation data. Any deficiencies found must be corrected by the permit holder
prior to any further work being permitted to proceed.
Any work undertaken prior to submission of the certification shall be at the applicant's
risk. No construction is to proceed nor will any inspections be made beyond the first
floor slab until the required elevation certificate has been approved by the Building
Official.

NOTICE
This Notice is to inform you that your property is in a Flood Hazard Zone.
This means that the elevation of the first floor must be set at 8 feet, NGVD ( mean sea level ),
or 18" above the crown of the road, whichever is greater.
NO CONSTRUCTION is to proceed beyond the 1 st floor/slab inspection, or just prior to the
second floor pour of a multi-story structure, until the required elevation certification has been
completed by a registered surveyor, and received and approved by the Building Division of the
St. Lucie County Community Development Department.
Violation of the requirement will result in the scheduling of a public hearing before the St. Lucie
County Code Enforcement Board. The Board is empowered to levy a fine not to exceed
$250.00 per day for each day the violation continues. A fine not to exceed $500.00 per day
may be levied for a repeat violation. The fine may become a lien upon the real or personal
property of the violator.
The elevation certification may be submitted anytime within 21 calendar days from the above;
however, no further construction should take place, nor will any inspections be made until the
required certification has been received and approved.
