Re: Level 3 Remodel of 9309 S Indian River Drive/ID 3519-441-0002-000-1
Dear Mr. Darden:
Attached please find the plans and other documents for the above -referenced residential project.
As per our phone conversation, we still have three outstanding code inspections on SLC2101-
0336, which are the insulation, electrical final, and final inspections (141,280 and 999). Because
the material for these final items would have to be removed and discarded for the new permit, we
are requesting that SLC2101-0336 be closed out with issuance of the new permit.
I will be acting as the Owner/Builder, so if any additional information is needed, please feel free
to contact me by phone or email, which are provided below.
Sincerely,
Mark L. Fick

Dear Ms. Waters,
In reference to permit #2110-0207 I am enclosing documents to respond to your
comments.
1st comment "title block to indicate 2007 NEC per 2020 FBC 107."
iResponse: Have amended title block. See new page A0.1.
--- 2nd comment "clarify MDP & meter in the same room as shower and laundry sink per
240.24(E)." Ej &-, 'w! D ?
3rd comment "per FPL/FPUA electric service standards please provide authorization
for meter location as shown on plans."
Response: laundry, laundry sink and outside shower are roofed over but part of the
exterior of the house (extension of the carport). They will have privacy panels around
them (see attached and note 8 page A4.1), but a person will be able to walk up to the
meter and shutoffs unobstructed.
4th comment "needs separate permit for fuel tank n
5th comment "needs subcontractor agreement for interior gas piping n
6th comment "needs gas schematic for interior piping. No details on plans per FBC
107."
Response: see attached documents.
V 7th comment "needs details for overhang extension note 15 on A4.1 per FBC 107."
Response: see new page A4.2.

8th comment "needs detail of rework roof at utility room. See note 4a on A4.1, per FBC

Response: see new page A4.2.

VIIth comment "needs details/installation instructions for kitchen exhaust flue per FBC

Response: see attached documents and new page M3.1.
V 10th comment "needs energy talcs & manual J per FBC 107."
Response: see attached documents.
11th comment "needs shoring details per note 3 on A4.1 "
Response: see attached documents.
12th comment "needs slab repair detail at new DW V."
Response: see new page A4.2.
13th comment "separate permit required for phase 2 work area. "
Response: We are providing documents for the whole remodel in the hope that it can
be accomplished under one permit. That would require that we rough in the plumbing
and electrical on the south part of the house, hook up the south phunbing to the new
septic tank, and the south electrical to the new underground electrical service. Then
we would do the same for the north part. That would require two separate rounds of
plumbing/electrical rough in inspections, and two separate rounds of plumbing.
electrical final inspections. Would it be possible to do partial electrical and plumbing
inspections, and pay for the extra inspections?
plumbing rough in partial/electrical rough in partial (extra cost)
plumbing final partial /electrical final partial (extra cost) .
plumbing rough m/electricai rough in

If we are required to have two permits, can we start the second permit about 3 months
after the first, with the first still open?
Please let me know if you need anything else from me.
Respectfully,

Dear Ms. Waters,
This letter is in regards to commen(2+,p[E7,
1st Comment "Clarify MDP & meter in the same room as shower and laundry sink per
240.24(E) damp location/not in bathroom. Needs 36" clearance at electrical equipment. NEC
110.26"
Response: Per our phone conversation, the area in front of the Meter and MDP is a dedicated
electrical space and will not be encroached upon by any doors. We eliminated the swing door
from the attached plan pages A1.2, A2.1, A3.2, A4.1, A4.2, M3.1 and E3.1. The shower has
more than 39" of clearance from the equipment and the door will swing inwards.
5th Comment: "Needs detail of rework roof at utility room. See note 4A on A4.1. Per FBC 107.
Needs grade and size & attachment of ledger."
Response: See page A0.1(structural lumber & framing notes), A4.2(detail at utility roof).
7th Comment "Separate permit required for phase 2 work area."
Response: Agreed.
Respectfully,
Mark L. Fick
