Parcel ID#: 2434-501-0044-000-7 Project Location: 3725 St. Francis Road, FP Property Size: 0.19 acres Project Description: Applicant requests an exemption for the removal of non-native vegetation for the installation of 45’ of 6’ high galvanized commercial chain-link fence topped with one foot of 3-strand barbed wire associated with Building Permit #2111-0579. Per Land Development Code 6.00.04 this activity qualifies for an exemption. **** ANY NATIVE VEGETATION DESTROYED OR DAMAGED OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF THIS PERMIT DUE TO VEGETATION REMOVAL ACTIVITIES SHALL BE MITIGATED AT A RATIO OF 4:1 (4 INCHES OF REPLANTING FOR EACH INCH DESTROYED OR DAMAGED). **** Field Notes: 1. HABITAT: a. Uplands: Residential b. Wetlands: None noted by staff; however, contact the appropriate state agency for confirmation of the presence or absence of jurisdictional wetlands. This exemption does not constitute a state or federal jurisdictional determination and all jurisdictional wetland delineations must be obtained from appropriate state and/or federal agencies. For agricultural or commercial properties please contact SFWMD at 561- 682-6736. 2. WILDLIFE: None observed. 3. SIGNIFICANT ARCHAEOLOGICAL OR HISTORIC FINDINGS: None Identified. Permit #20211206 provides authorization for the removal of non-native vegetation. No native vegetation is permitted to be removed at this time. Conditions of Issuance: The following minimum standards for vegetation protection shall be applied to areas of vegetation designated to be preserved (Land Development Code Section 6.00.05.C): • A barrier shall be placed and maintained around the tree’s perimeter to form a continuous boundary as specified below.  Vegetation protection barricades shall be placed at a minimum distance of either ten (10) feet from the edge of groups of protected vegetation or from the radius of the dripline from all protected trees, whichever is greater; in the event that a full 10-foot buffer cannot be provided, the applicant shall provide the maximum buffer feasible;  Protective barriers or protective designations shall remain in place until completion of site construction and clearing activities;  In the event that any protective barriers are removed or altered and clearing activities are conducted within an area identified for preservation, SLC ERD is authorized to direct that all land clearing and site alteration work at the site be stopped until the barriers are restored and any necessary corrective actions taken to repair or replant any vegetation removed or damaged as a result of these encroachments; • The preserve areas and tree preservation areas shall be maintained in their natural state, so as not to alter the water and oxygen content of the soil and impair its function; • All native mangrove species are state-protected plant species through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and may not be trimmed, removed, destroyed, or damaged without prior authorization from DEP. Post Clearing Requirements: 1) Landscaping shall consist of a 24-in. tall native hedge and one (1) native tree every 30 linear ft. placed on the outside (street side) of the fence along St. Francis Road per Land Development Code 7.09.04.A.
