The documentation submitted has been reviewed and accepted by Miami-Dade County RER -Product Control Section to be used in Miami Dade County and other areas where allowed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Slot: Truss Construction: Cut shall be 1-¼” wide and 6" shorter at each end than the total length of the ridge vent to be installed. Installation: Mark proper alignment and end line for vents with chalk; snap a chalk line down both sides of the ridge at a distance of 7” down from the peak as shown in the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Center the length of vent along the ridge. Start nailing with minimum 1 ¾” roofing nails placed 6” on center at manufacturer pre-marked locations. Use nails of sufficient length to penetrate through the sheathing a minimum of 3/16” or at least 1” into wood plank decking thicker than 1”. Cut lines are provided if more than one vent is being used (See manufacturer installation manual). Additional pieces shall run in the same direction as they unroll out of the carton.
