Dear Mr. Murphy: o42R,a z «� PLAH MNG & DEVELOPMVEMT SERVMES DEPARTMENT Mannu ng D'uvWon Please accept this letter in response to your written request dated August 12, 2014 to waive the finished floor elevation of 18" above the crown of the road for the medical in -processing building of FPL located at 6501 S Ocean Dr., Jensen Beach, FL 34982. Pursuant to Section 7:04.01(C-3) of the St Lucie County Land Development Code, the Planning and Development Services Director has the authority to grant the administrative relief for non-h8bitable7non- residential structures, when topographical conditions are such that compliance with this subsection would -be-impracticable-or cause grade level -conditions detrimental -to -adjacent-or nearby property, -consistent with the intent of the Flood Protection regulations and any other applicable portion of this`Code. The Planning and Development Services Director has granted your request for administrative relief of the finished floor elevation based on the following determinations: 1) The property is in Flood Zone-AE-6, but the proposed finished floor elevation will be 7.82' above minimum flood elevation. 2) SR Al A immediately in front of the location of the proposed building- is 314.51' away. 3) Compliance would be impracticable. 4) The proposed finished floor.elevation will be 13.82' NAVD, 0.15' above the average crown of the road. 5) Positive site drainage is not being negatively impacted by keeping the existing slab elevation at its current elevation. This approval does not in any way constitute. authorization to begin construction. Prior to the commencement of any construction on this property, an application for specific building permit must be obtained from this department.
