MUST SLOPE A MINIMUM OF 1/2" PER FOOT AWAY FROM THE FOUNDATION OR SKIRTING FOR THE FIRST 10'. THE SITE MUST BE GRADED TO PROVIDE FOR STORM RUN-OFF. SPECIAL CARE MUST BE TAKEN WITH THE AREA DIRECTLY BELOW YOUR HOME TO PREVENT WATER FROM PONDING AND/OR PUDDLING UNDER YOUR HOME AND SUPPORTS. IF THE SPACE UNDER THE HOME IS TO BE ENCLOSED WITH SKIRTING OR OTHER MATERIALS, A VAPOR RETARDER (I.E. POLY...) MUST BE INSTALLED TO COVER THE GROUND UNDER THE HOME (SHALL BE 6 MIL. Loads on supports of a given type (frame, perimeter, mating line) can be assumed to be equal If support spacing is equal. However, If different support spacings are utilized then each support with different spacing shall be calculated separately. 2. This table is designed for use with multi -section homes. However, if a single section home is being installed, the perimeter spacing should be used along both sidewall areas and the mating line spacing can be ignored. As an alternate to placing the perimeter pier directly under the perimeter joist on the floor system, the pier may be recessed up to a maximum of ten inches (10") from the outside edge of the floor system (sidewall side ONLY) when a minimum 44 P.T. that spans a minimum of two floor joists is used on top of the recessed pier (see detail above). 2. The ten inches (10") maximum set back is measured from the outer edge of the floor system to the vertical face of the pier. 3. The footing sizes shown are for square pads and are based on the area (in.), shear and bending required for the loads shown. Other configurations, such as rectangular or circular configurations, can be used, provided the area and depth is equal or greater than the area and depth of the square footing shown in the table, and the distance from the edge of the pier to the edge of the footing is not less than the thickness of the fooling. 2. The 6In. cast -in -place values can be used for 4 in. unreinforced precast concrete footings. 3. The capacity values listed have been reduced by the dead toad of the concrete footing. 4. Concrete block piers must not exceed their design capacity of 8,030 lbs, for 8 in. x 16 in. single stack block and 16,000lbs. for 16 in. x 16 in. double stack block. S. A registered professional engineer or registered architect shall prepare the design, if the load exceeds the capacity `or single or double stack concrete block piers shown in footnote 4. 6. On the frame (I-beam) a single stack block pier shag not exceed 36" high (see footnote 4 for maxununt capacity) and a double stack block pier wnh interlocked blocks shall not exceed 67" high (see footnote 4 for maximum capacity). When installed along the perimeter or the mating line a single stack block pier shall not exceed 54" in height (see footnote 4 for maximum capacity). Any piers that exceed the iieghts specified it this footnote shall be designed by a registered professional engineer or registered architect. 7. Poured (cast -in -place) or precast concrete footings are appropriate for all soil types.
