Sweep the substrate thoroughly to remove any dust and debris prior to application, and prime the substrate (if applicable). 6.2.1 Installation of RESISTO LB1236, Grip -Rite Eave & Valley Protector or TopShield ICE & WATER DEFENDER self - adhering underlayment in a reroof (tear -off) application atop an existing underlayment (per Table 2) requires priming of the existing substrate with RESISTO EXTERIOR PRIMER. Final acceptance of any existing substrate in a reroof (tear -off) installation is at the discretion of the installer and the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
