Progress Inspection Report #13
Permit #SLC 2102-0371
Project Name: Barclay Beach Club Progress Report thru 8-13-21
Project Address: 2800 SR-Al A, Hutchinson Island Inspection Visits: 8-11-21
Prime Contractor: Blue Coast Construction
Superintendent: Rafael Rodriguez
Activities in-progress: Unit 504 and 404 door removal and excavations, Unit 206 edge repairs
INSPECTOR'S REPORT
Keystone Engineering visited the site on 8-11-21 and had several conversations with the
construction team by telephone throughout the week.
This week the construction crew removed sliding glass doors on the Unit 504 and 404
balconies. Excavations continued past the doors, an additional door will need removed
on the Unit 404 and 204 balconies. Doors were inspected from the inside for damage,
however units with tile make it hard to detect damage within. Most of the sliding glass
doors have rebar that run parallel with the track, and it is difficult if not impossible to
excavate completely around the steel without removing the track. Severely corroded
reinforcement was discovered in a column on the inside of Unit 404. Contractor plans to
cast back the surface repairs before addressing the column.
Workers excavated spalls on the edge of the Unit 206 balcony, steel prep and form installations
are in progress. Cast backs are also in progress on the rest of the 06 stack.
