STRUCTURES OF THE ASCE 7-16, 7TH EDITION 2020 FLORIDA RESIDENTIAL CODE, 7TH EDITION 2020 FLORIDA
BUILDING CODE, 7TH EDITION 2020 FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE, NEC 2017 AND ALL LOCAL CODES &
ORDINANCES.
ROOF SHALL HAVE NO MORE THAN TWO LAYERS OF COVERING IN ADDITION TO THE SOLAR EQUIPMENT.
INSTALLATION OF SOLAR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE FLUSH MOUNTED, PARALLEL TO AND NO MORE THAN 6-INCHES
ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE ROOF FOR SLOPED ROOF AND NO MORE THAN 10-INCHES ABOVE THE SURFACE OF
THE ROOF FOR FLAT ROOF.
ANY PLUMBING VENTS ARE NOT TO BE CUT OR COVERED FOR SOLAR EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION. ANY
RELOCATION OR MODIFICATION OF THE VENT REQUIRES A PLUMBING PERMIT AND INSPECTION.
ALL DESIGN, CALCULATIONS ARE PERFORMED BY DANIEL DUNZIK REGISTERED ARCHITECT. FLORIDA STATE
STATUTE 471.003(3) PROVIDES THAT LICENSED ARCHITECTS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE PROVISIONS OF

3. Please note that no revisions are made to the existing terms of the Warranty. The terms of the Warranty shall remain

subconstruction.
5. Customer may not transfer, assign or delegate any of its rights or obligation hereunder to any other person, without

SunModo's EZ Grip Metal Deck Mount
installs in just minutes into sheet metal,
plywood or OSB roof decking. The four
included 1/4 x 3" Hex Washer Head Self -tapping Screws have the length to penetrate though 1-1/2
inches of insulation while still piercing completely through the roof decking. And since the four
screws are guided by the aluminum extruded base to penetrate at a 3o-degree angle, the Metal
Roof Deck Mount Kit offers superior attachment performance. 1/4-20 Self -drilling screws can be
used for attachments into 26 gauge minimum thickness metal roofs.
The EZ Grip Metal Deck Mount is designed to fit
on the most popular R-Panel and U-Panel _
trapezoidal types of metal roofs. The aluminum
extruded base easily clears roof profiles 7/16"
tall by 1-1/2" wide. The EPDM gaskets on the _

FLEXSEALm CAULK GRADE
Description
TOPCOAT® FlexSeal'" Caulk Grade is a white solvent -
based synthetic elastomeric sealant. FlexSeal" Caulk
Grade is extremely flexible and durable, but with a higher
viscosity formulation than standard viscosity FlexSeal-.
Like all solvent -based products, the surface must be
clean and completely free of moisture and residual
contaminants before application. FlexSeal'" Caulk Grade
is especially suited for use in any application where
caulk is typically used. If a more fluid viscosity is desired,
FlexSeal'" is also available in both a standard viscosity as
FlexSeal' and a low -viscosity version as FlexSeal- LV.
Uses
TOPCOAT FlexSeal" Caulk Grade is designed for use
on metal, copper, concrete, wood, asphalt shingles, SBS,
APP, EPDM, BUR, TPO, and PVC substrates. Especially
designed for use where elastomeric caulks are required,
like term bar applications or around clamping rings at
penetrations. FlexSeal- Caulk Grade may be used for
cold -weather applications provided that the material is
stored properly and the substrate is dry prior to application.
This product is easiest to apply at temperatures above
32°F (0°C). Substrate temperatures must be below 120°F
(48.9°C) when applying product.

Applicable Standards
FlexSeal'" Caulk Grade meets ASTM D412 and D920; and
is tested in accordance with D2196 and D1475.
Application Considerations
FlexSeal'" Caulk Grade is not a structural component and
it is not intended to bridge large voids. Joint depth should
not exceed 1/2" wide by 1/2" deep (13 mm x 13 mm).
If joint exceeds 112" (13 mm) deep, the sealant depth
should be controlled by a closed cell backer rod.
The number of joints and width of joints should be
designed to accommodate a maximum of 25%
movement.
Note: Apply only as directed. Over -application may
result in slumping, dripping, or unsightly appearance.
Note: Repair leaks promptly to avoid adverse effects,
including mold growth.

Certification: I have reviewed the engineering testing reports for the racking and attachments to be used on this project
and I certify that the products are capable of supporting the code required loads and are suitable for this installation
when installed in strict compliance with the manufacturers printed instructions.
Regarding the solar panel array installation on the above referenced project please note that an inspection was
performed by a representative of the Architect/Engineer of Record, and analysis of the existing structure was
conducted. There is adequate structural capacity for the installation of the array with the following recommendations:
1. The array will be installed on the existing roof. The roof ftaming is constructed of 2"x4" wood trusses @24" o.c.
spanning 14' with a top chord length of 14' 9" with intermediate supports at 1/2 points, making the effective longest
span equals 8' with 1/2" plywood sheathing. The new array (See Site map by contractor) will add 2.63 Lb. / Sf. overall
to the roof. The existing structure is sufficient to support the new loads associated with the additional weight & wind
resistance. No additional structural support is required for the roof structure.
2. The attachment system shall be secured to the roof and shall be in strict compliance with manufacturers printed
instructions. The attachment system shall be UL 1703 approved tested. Provide 6 mil. vapor barrier between dissimilar
metals. Provide water tight gasket and sealant at all penetrations. Attachments shall follow panel rows as specified by
the system manufacturer's installation manual. The panel angle shall match the roof slope. Reference summary table

National Electric Code, All Local Governing County and Municipal Ordinances adopted by reference or enacted by
law. All components used meet the criteria of the Florida Solar Energy Center.
