The data gathered during the investigation, together with our geotechnical related opinions, are included in this report. Site Description: At the time of drilling, the riverfront site was flat with some light surface vegetation (grass). Site Investigation: The site investigation program consisted of performing four (4) Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings within the area of the proposed footings for the proposed structure. The borings were terminated at depths of approximately 10 to 15 feet below existing grade on the site at the time of the investigation. These tests were performed to verify that the soil densification performed from February 9, 2022, to February 11, 2022, had been achieved through cement grouting under pressure. The locations of the borings were specified by the client in the field and the approximate locations are indicated on the attached boring Location Plan. The SPT borings were completed in general accordance with procedures described in ASTM D1586. The records of the soils encountered, the SPT penetration resistance values, and groundwater levels that were recorded in the borings are shown on the attached logs. Engineering Evaluation and Conclusions: KSM performed borings in the proposed footing areas in order to assess whether the site subgrade conditions had been properly stabilized through the injection of 1912 Lynx Drive Fort Pierce, Florida KSM Project #: 219325-b2 Page 2 of 3 cementitious grout, under pressure. The discovered post-grout injection subsurface conditions are described as follows: Boring Locations B-1, B-2, and B-4 – The discovered subsurface conditions indicate that the dark gray and dark brown clayed silt with traces of organics deposits were densified from a pre-injection condition that was very loose in consistency to a post- injection condition that ranged from loose to medium-dense, at locations mid-way between the injection pipe locations. Boring Location B-3 – The discovered subsurface conditions indicate that the dark brown clayed silt with organics deposits were mildly densified from a pre-injection condition that was very loose in consistency to a post-injection condition that was generally loose to very loose. Building Subgrade Mitigation Opinions – Based on the results of the post-injection borings, in comparison to the pre-injection borings, it is KSM’s professional opinion that the subsurface soils were improved sufficiently to allow the proposed structure to be supported on a structural steel-reinforced “waffle type” structural slab. The earthwork contractor can continue with the balance of the site preparation work that was delineated in KSM’s December 2, 2021, report. The foundation should subsequently be designed and constructed in accordance with recommendations made in KSM’s December 2, 2021, report. Closure: Standard of Care – This report has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted soil and foundation engineering practices based on the results of the test borings and the assumed loading conditions. No warranties, either expressed or implied, are intended or made. This report does not reflect any variations which may occur between the borings. If variations appear evident during the course of construction, it would be necessary to re-evaluate the recommendations of this project. Construction Phase Services and Report Amendments – Based upon KSM’s post- injection investigation of the subsurface conditions at the above-mentioned project location, the reliance of the recommendations presented within this signed and sealed report is predicated on KSM representative’s involvement to verify that not only have the soils been prepared following the indicated recommendations, but the foundations are installed in compliance within the parameters indicated. The Structural Engineer of Record is responsible for confirming that the estimated capacities provided are adequate for the anticipated loading. If additional capacity is required, KSM is to be notified so that our recommendations can be amended as required.
