All construction shall conform to the latest edition of the Florida Building Code if not specified below. 2. Install 5/8" J-Bolts with 2" diameter washers to all bearing walls at the maximum spacing as on the schedule and within 12" from all corners, door openings and end -jointing bottom plates. Minimum bolt embedment is 4". 3. All framed bearing walls shall have 2" x 6" studs (see floor plans) at 16" O.C. with a double top plate and a single P.T. bottom plate. 4. All bearing walls shall be double top plated with the lap greater than 4'. The SPH6 shall be installed at both ends of the wall and spaced as per schedule. 5. Attach all individual jacks to the header with openings smaller than 4' with a LSTA18. With all openings 4' and greater use the LSTA18 on each side of each jack and attach the jacks to the concrete with a PHD2 at each end of the opening. All openings smaller than 48" use the SPH6 for the bottom on each jack. Attach a LSTA18 or SPH6 from the header to the top plate as per connector spacing. 6. Additional PHD2s may have been added for shearwall connections (see floor plans for locations). Where PHD2s are used, the bottom SPH4 fastener and anchor bolt at that location may be omitted. 7. The Simpson'PHD2' may be replaced with the Simpson 'HTT22' or'HDU2' 8. At all elevations attach 5/8" CDX wall sheathing at 6" O.C. on the seams and 6" O.C. in the field w/10d Common Nails. Provide 2" X 4" blocking at every seam and edge on walls to secure the sheathing. The wall panels shall be installed with the greater length vertical. 9. On the roof, attach 5/8" CDX sheathing, staggering the joints with 8d Full -Head Ringshank Nails at 6" O.C. on seams and 6" O.C. at intermediate supports. All nailing within 3' of the ridge shall be at 4" O.C. See detail for nailing requirements on eaves. 10. The conventional framed area on the roof shall have 2" x 6", #2 Spruce rafters at 2' O.C. and a 3 1/2" x 16", 2 Ply ridge board. 11. Any exterior porch Ceilings shall be ''/2" Exterior Soffit Board. Fasten to trUSSES with #6 - 1 '/4' drywall screws at 7" O.C. on the seams and 12" O.C. in the field. This application creates a structural diaphragm and will not require any additional bracing of the bottom cords of the trusses other than the ratruns specified. 12. All roof hand -framing shall be blocked and strapped together to form one urit and connected to the trusses below using a MTS16. The rafters attached to the ridge board shall be tied together with either a 2" X 4" collar tie directly below the ridge (w/3 - #12 each end) or a LSTA18 strap or 'A34'. 13. All fasteners, nails, bolts ets. That shall come into contact with exterior grade pressure treated lumber (or any lumber treated with a copper based solution), where the final component is to be exposed to the weather, shall be 'Z-MAX, hot -dipped galvanized (HDG) or stainless steel. Use only hot -dipped galvanized fasteners with 'Z-MAX' or hot -dipped galvanized connectors. Use only stainless steel fasteners with stainless steel connectors. 14. All studs shall be construction grade spruce. All hand -framing shall be construction grade spruce or Southern Yellow Pine. The CDX sheathing shall have a span rating of 24/16. All headers on bearing walls shall be (3) 2" X 8" Y.P. 15. All fastening procedures shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and all components attached to the structure (Doors, Windows, Shutters, Screen Porch, Roofing Materials, Etc.), shall be designed and installed to resist the design wind force. 16. Window sill Framing shall be strapped at each side with Simpson LSTA 18" per F.B.C. R301 and R802. 17. Ceiling Gypsum Board shall be a minimum of 1/2" thick in compliance with F.B.C. R702.3.5. 18.
