Dear Travis:
Commercial-Residential Structural Engineering, Inc. (CRSE) is pleased to provide this report on the fastening
requirements for the following roofing items for the building located at 7380 South Ocean Dr, Jensen Beach, Fl
34957.
The following wind criteria and nominal components and cladding wind pressures were used to calculate the
attachment for the following roof items: 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code and ASCE 7-16, Risk
Category II, Wind Speed 163 mph (Vult) and 126.3 mph (Vasd), Exposure D, mean roof height 30-feet, and an
Internal Pressure Coefficient: +/- 0.18 (Enclosed).
Nominal Roof components and Cladding Pressures; Zone 1 is -59.7 psf, Zone 2e is -79.8 psf, 2r is -104.0 psf,
and Zone 3 is -84.7 psf. The roof zones are defined as being a=5.5-feet, measured from the edges and
corners of the building; see the simplified wind schematic below.
Petersen 0.032 aluminum 18-inch max (W) x 1.75-inch (H) Snap-Clad metal panel attached to the
existing plywood deck using #10 wood screws (NOA 19-1028.15). The fasteners shall be corrosion
resistant and penetrate the plywood roof deck 3/16-inch or three full threads beyond the material. The
attachment of the panel clips to the plywood roof deck shall be as follows:
Zones 1, 2e, and 3 - Provide (2) fasteners per clip, with the clip spaced at 24-inches on center.
Zone 2r - Provide (2) fasteners per clip, with the clip spaced at 18-inches on center.
