All habitable structures must be elevated at or above an elevation which places the lowest horizontal structural member above the 100-year storm elevation as determined by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The minimum elevation established by FDEP for this structure has been set at 15.5 feet NAVD. Upon placement of the lowest horizontal structural member, the applicant shall submit to the Building Official certification of the elevation of the lowest horizontal structural member of the lowest floor as built in relation to The North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). The certification must be prepared by or under the direct supervision of a registered land surveyor and certified by same. The Building Official shall review the submitted elevation data. Any deficiencies found must be corrected by the permit holder prior to any further work being permitted to proceed. Any work undertaken prior to submission of the certification shall be at the applicant's risk. No construction is to proceed nor will any inspections be made beyond the first floor slab until the required elevation certificate has been approved by the Building Official.
