Pierce, FL CONTRACTOR: Structure-Con PROJECT MGR: Khris McConnell INSPECTED BY: Todd Rhoten WEATHER: Sunny WORK INSPECTED: Units 409 & 609 – Demo & pre-pour. OBSERVATIONS: Post shores are in place from the ground floor up to the bottom of the sixth-floor slab. Unit 409 • The north balcony edge has been removed and (6) uniform post tension (PT) cables were located. • The (2) #4 bursting bars behind the PT cable anchors are corroded. • The west balcony edge was sounded and the concrete is in serviceable condition. • Remnants of the original railing posts were left in the slab when the railings were cut off and replaced with surface mounted railings several years ago. Unit 609 • A new PT cable section has been spliced to the broken uniform cable. • Anchor plates have been placed at the balcony edge and the edge repair was poured. • Remnants of the original railing posts were left in the slab when the railings were cut off and replaced with surface mounted railings several years ago. RECOMMENDATIONS: Unit 409 • All railing post remnants to be removed at the balcony edge. • Lock off (6) PT cables to replace the corroded bursting bars along the north balcony edge. Unit 609 • All railing post remnants to be removed at the balcony edge. • Re-stress the PT cable and provide a new sleeve. • Provide (2) new #5 dowels under the sliding glass door track and epoxy 6” into the existing column, parallel to the door. • The existing PT cable sleeves running in the east to west direction require repair. • Power tool clean and coat all exposed reinforcing bars prior to new concrete placement. ______________________________ _________________________________ Michael Lue, P.E.
