The ASTM E330-02 test method was reapproved with no revisions in 2010 as ASTM E330-02(2010).
ASTM E330-02(2010) was revised in 2014 to be a concurrent Metric and Imperial primary document
with no other technical changes made and is the currently active ASTM E330/ E330M-14 test method.
Therefore compliant testing to the currently active ASTM E330/ E330M-14 test method is equivalent to
compliant testing performed to ASTM E330-02(2010) test method requirements.

As the Sponsor of the Hallmark Certification Program, WDMA has conducted a side -by -side comparison of the
testing and specification differences between the 2008, 2009, 2012, 2012a and 2014 editions of ASTM E 1996. Based
on this comparison, WDMA has determined that in all instances, except for compliance to Wind Zone 4, and except
for impact protection systems, the requirements of ASTM E 1996-14 are either identical to, or improvements to the
requirements of all ASTM E 1996 editions between and including 2008 through 2012a, or are language revisions that
do not adversely affect the performance of compliant products. Further, except for compliance to Wind Zone 4,
compliance with any edition of ASTM E 1996 including 2009 through 2012a constitutes compliance with ASTM
E1996-14.
WDMA deems that except for compliance to Wind Zone 4, any product legitimately claiming full compliance to
ASTM E1996-14 through WDMA Hallmark Certification Program also qualifies the product for full compliance to
ASTM El996-08, ASTM EI996-09, ASTM EI996-12 and ASTM EI996-12a without the need for additional specific
testing or documentation'. Further, WDMA deems that except for compliance to Wind Zone 4, any product
legitimately claiming full compliance to ASTM EI996-14 through WDMA Hallmark Certification Program should be
considered as having met ASTM E1996-08, ASTM E1996-09, ASTM E1996-12 and ASTM EI996-12a without the
need to list these older superseded standards on the certification or product approval label.
WDMA encourages users, specifiers and code authorities to accept compliance to ASTM E1996-14 as having
satisfied any contract, specification or code requirement for compliance to ASTM E1996-08, ASTM E 1996-09,
ASTM E1996-12 or ASTM E1996-12a.
With regard to Wind Zone 4, the 2014 edition of E1996 moved the criteria to the non -mandatory appendix, and did
not update the wind speed requirements to comply with revisions to ASCE/SE17-10. Therefore, it is not possible to
deem equivalency between products tested for Wind Zone 4 trader ASTM E-1996-14 and those tested under the 2008,
2009, 2012, or 2012a editions. Products tested for Wind Zone 4 most be evaluated individually for compliance to
ASI'M EI996-14.
Impact protective systems were added to ASTM E1996 in the 2008 edition. WDMA has not evaluated, and make no
declaration regarding the equivalency of the performance of impact protective systems amongst ASTM E1996
editions.
WDMA believes that the changes made between the 2006 and 2008 editions of ASTM E1996 are significant enough
that no statement of equivalence can be made to this older edition. Products tested to ASTM EI996-06 must be
evaluated individually for compliance to ASTM E1996-14.

Section 1: General Description of the Products and Systems under this
Certification
1.1 Frame: The frame jambs consisted of finger jointed pine wood head and
jamb members. The frame jambs were milled and joined to the frame head
using a rabbet joint and four (4) 1.6 mm x 11 mm x 51 mm (16 GA x 0.483"
x 2') staples per corner. The frame sill was square cut, sealed with a foam
gasket and joined at each end to the framejambs using three (3) 1.6 mm x
I 1 ram x 51 ram (16 GA x 0.483" x 2") staples through the jamb and one
(1) 4.2 mm x 51 ram (#8 x 2) flat head screw through the sill per corner.
1.2 Door Leaf Construction: Each door leaf consisted of a 0.71 mm (0.028")
thick galvanized steel skin on the interior and exterior surfaces with an
internal polystyrene core. The door leaf face sheets were glued to the core
and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) stiles and top mil.
1.3 Side-Lite Construction: Each side-lite consisted of a 0.53 mm (0.021")
thick galvanized steel skin on the interior and exterior surfaces with an
internal polystyrene core. The side-lite leaf face sheets were glued to the
core and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) stiles and top rail.

1.4 Glazing (where used)
Sidelites- The overall insulating glass unit comprised of two (2) panes of
3.2 mm (0.125") nominal tempered glass.
Transom- The overall insulating glass unit was comprised of two (2) panes
of 2.2 can (0.087") nominal annealed glass.
1.5 Mullions: The laminated veneer lumber (LVL) integral mullion was milled
at each end and fastened to the head and sill using three (3) 4.2 mm x 64
mm (#8 x 2.5") Flat head screws. The combination mullion consisted of
finger -jointed wood frame head of the OXO SHD joined with finger jointed
wood frame sill of the fixed transom. The mullion joint was fastened on the
interior and exterior sides using one (1) 27 mm x 13 mm x 0.64 mm (1.063"
x 0.5" x 25 GA) corrugated nail at approximately 51 mm (2"), 152 mm (6"),
343 mm (I3.5'�, and 610 mm (24") from each end.

Limits of Use:
This product has been evaluated for use in locations adhering to the current Florida Building Code.
See Installation Instructions 1W162009, signed and sealed by Hermes Norero, P.E. (FL k 73778) for
specific use parameters.
1. This product has been evaluated and is in compliance with the current Florida Building Code,
excluding the "High Velocity Hurricane Zone" (HVHZ).
2. Product anchors shall be as listed and spaced as shown on details. Anchor embedment into
substrate material shall be beyond wall dressing or stucco.
3. When used in areas requiring wind borne debris protection this product complies with
Chapter 16 of the current Florida Building Code and does not require an Impact resistant
covering on single and double door systems without a sidelite or transom, in all Wind Zones.
Single and double door systems with a sidefite or transom do not require an impact resistant
covering, in Wind Zones 3 or less. Florida approved impact resistant shutters are required for
sidelRes and transom.
4. Site conditions that deviate from the details of drawing JW1620D9 require further
engineering analysis by a licensed engineer or registered architect.
