To Whom It May Concern,
Creswell Engineers and Constructors, Inc. (CECI) is the engineer of record for this
residential construction project. The building contractor, Mel-Ry Construction, Inc., has
increased the opening size of the windows and in as such there are no poured precast
lentils. In place of the lentils, I have directed the contractor to fabricate angle brackets
using 4 x 4 xl/4 A36 steel sections. These brackets will transfer the loads to the columns
in place of the lentil beam.
The fabricated sections have been reviewed by CECI and they have been found to be
adequate. I instructed Mel-Ry to install these angle sections by fastening them to the
structure using 5/8" x 6" anchor bolts.
