ATF Permit - Attached, please find my individual verification letters for Weather
Barrier (#651), Wire Lath (#139), Window/Door Attachment (#148) & window &
Door Flashing (#300) as listed on the Inspection sheet for this Permit. I understand
that the Contractor has filed a Notice of Commencement and that St. Lucie County
Building Division Inspectors will re -visit the Site for the Final Inspection.
Also attached is Declaratory Statement 61 G20-1.001 from the Florida Building
Commission which concludes that if the value of the replacement windows in a
"renovated building" do not exceed 30% of the appraised value of the structure,
the replacement windows are not required to meet the provisions of the energy
conservation code ..." This 'Declaratory Statement does not apply to the
requirement that the windows in question must be impact rated.
NFRC Missing Labels Per note from Mike Lunsford, SLC on 03-07-22 "unable
to complete inspection"... no (window) labels ...
During my on -site observations today, I noted that all NFRC labels had been
removed from the newly installed windows. Upon request, the property
owner stated that he always purchased the same type of windows from the
same supplier for his rental properties. Per a forwarded receipt from Home
Depot, the windows in question are branded as "American Craftsman" which
are re -labeled Silver Line Building Products aluminum frame, Low-E
insulated , impact rated units. See attached Florida Product Approval
#14911.5 for "V1 Series/70 Series HVHZ with Design Pressures of +55 (-)
60 PSF, large & small missile impact rating. Table R 301.2.2 shows a
minimum required Design Pressure for a 10 SF opening of +27.6 (-)37.0 in
Zone 5. As noted above, the replacement windows are not required to meet
the energy conservation requirements of the Florida Building Code as long
as they are impact rated & meet or exceed the Design Pressure for this Risk
Category 2, Exposure B, 160 mph wind zone location.
I have reviewed the above noted components and cladding and have
approved their use in this reconstruction. These products provide adequate
resistance to the wind loads &. forces specified in the 7th Edition, 2020
Florida Building Code.

above.
