TO THESE NOTES AND THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS.
5. DISCREPANCIES: IN CASE OF DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
REFERENCE STANDARDS & GOVERNING CODE, THE MORE STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS
SHALL GOVERN. ALL DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
ARCHITECT BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH WORK.
6. SITE VERIFICATION: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS, ELEVATIONS
AND SITE CONDITIONS BEFORE STARTING WORK, AND THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE
IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED, IN WRITING, OF ANY DISCREPANCIES. IN NO CASE SHALL
DIMENSIONS BE SCALED FROM PLANS, SECTIONS, OR DETAILS ON THE DRAWINGS.
7. OMISSIONS/CONFLICTS: IN CASE OF OMISSIONS AND CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS AND SITE CONDITIONS, THE ENGINEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED
BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
8. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: THE CONTRACTOR IS FESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY
AT THE SITE AND FOR THE STRENGTH AND STABILITY OF ALL PARTLY COMPLETED
STRUCTURES.
9. LOAD LIMITS: LOADS ON THE STRUCTURE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE DESIGN LOADS
SHOWN UNDER "DESIGN CRITERIA".
10. SUBMITTALS: WHERE SHOP DRAWINGS, MILL TESTS, OR OTHER ITEMS ARE REQUESTED,
SUBMITTAL SHALL BE MADE TO THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER PRIOR TO FABRICATION
OR INSTALLATION IN THE STRUCTURE, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED.
11. ALTERNATES: ALTERNATES FOR SPECIFIED ITEMS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO ENGINEER
FOR APPROVAL. CONTRACTOR SHALL BUDGET FOR ENGINEERING FEES ASSOCIATED
WITH THE REVIEW OF THESE MATERIALS.

1. THIS PROJECT REQUIRES CONCRETE RESTORATION TO THE BEAM AND PRECAST DOUBLE T'S.
DUE TO THE RUSTING OF THE REINFORCING STEEL WITHIN THE CONCRETE.
2. THE STRUCTURE SHALL BE INSPECTED AND THE EXACT SCOPE OF REPAIR WORK DETEMINED
BY AN CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO BID.
3. REPAIR OF THE CONCRETE AND TREATMENT OF THE STEEL SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE ATTACHED DRAWINGS.
4. ALL RESTORATION SHALL BE PERFORMED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF AN ENGINEER.

A. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS CONSIST OF DRAWINGS AND DESIGN INFORMATION
PREPARED BY MULTIPLE DISCIPLINES AND MUST BE USED AS A WHOLE AND IN COORDINATION
WITH EACH OTHER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY APPARENT
DISCREPANCIES OR OMISSION OF INFORMATION NOT SHOWN ON THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS
DURING THE SHOP DRAWINGS SUBMITTAL PROCESS. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
CORRECTING ERRORS RESULTING FROM LACK OF COORDINATION OF DOCUMENTS.
2. STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS SHOULD NOT BE SCALED. PRINTED DIMENSIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE
OVER SCALED DRAWINGS AND LARGE SCALE DETAILS OVER SMALL SCALE.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH THE EXISTING
CONDITIONS. CHECK AND VERIFY EXISTING DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS AND TAKE ADDITIONAL
MEASUREMENTS AS NEEDED BEFORE STARTING ANY WORK NOTIFY ENGINEER OF ANY
DISCREPANCY BETWEEN ACTUAL CONDITIONS AND INDICATED CONDITIONS. MODIFICATION OF
DETAILS OF CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT BE MADE WITHOUT WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE ENGINEER.
4. TYPICAL DETAILS SHALL APPLY IN GENERAL CONSTRUCTION UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DETAILED,
WHERE NO DETAILS ARE GIVEN, CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE AS SHOWN FOR SIMILAR WORK.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION AND REPAIR
OF ADJACENT EXISTING SURFACES AND AREAS WHICH MAY BE DAMAGED BY NEW WORK,
6. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, TESTING AND INSPECTION SERVICES CALLED FOR SHALL BE PAID BY
THE OWNER, AND ARE NOT PART OF THE BASIC DESIGN SERVICES OF THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
B. STRUCTURAL STEEL
1. FABRICATE AND ERECT STRUCTURAL STEEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH AISC "SPECIFICATION FOR STRUCTURAL
STEEL BUILDINGS", LATEST EDITION. ALL STRUCTURAL STEEL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE
CODE OF STANDARD PRACTICE FOR STEEL BUILDINGS AND BRIDGES.
2. ALL FIELD BOLTED SHEAR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE MADE WITH 3/4" DIAMETER ASTM A325 HIGH STRENGTH
BOLTS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. BEAM SHEAR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE DESIGNED BY THE FABRICATOR
FOR THE REACTIONS SHOWN ON THE PLANS, OR IF NOT SHOWN, PROVIDE THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF BOLTS
THAT CAN BE INSTALLED AT 3" ON CENTER IN ONE ROW,
3. STRUCTURAL STEEL MEMBERS OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING ENVELOPE SHALL BE PRIMED AND PAINTED
UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. STRUCTURAL STEEL SHOP DRAWINGS, PREPARED BY THE STEEL SUBCONTRACTOR, SHOWING COMPLETE
DIMENSIONS AND DETAILS, SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO FABRICATION OF THE STEEL
COMPONENTS. THE STRUCTURAL STEEL SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING, VERIFICATION
AND COORDINATION OF DIMENSIONS AND DETAILS WITH THE STRUCTURAL AND OTHER PORTIONS OF THE
CONTRACT DRAWINGS, THE STEEL SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL NOT REPRODUCE ANY PORTION OF THE STRUCTURAL
CONTRACT DRAWINGS FOR UTILIZATION AS SHOP DRAWINGS, UNLESS APPROVAL OF THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
IS OBTAINED.
C. SHOP DRAWINGS
1. SHOP DRAWINGS SHALL BE SUBMITTED IN COMPLETE PACKAGES FOR THE FOLLOWING:
A. STRUCTURAL STEEL & CONNECTIONS.
2. PRE-ENGINEERED ITEMS SHALL BE SUBMITTED SIGNED AND SEALED BY A SPECIALTY ENGINEER
REGISTERED IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA.
NOTE:
ONCE STRUCTURAL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED
(1) ALL CONCRETE AREAS ARE TO BE SEALED WITH A
PENETRATING CONCRETE SEALER SUCH AS SIKAGUARD SN-40
(2) A ROOF SPECIALIST SHALL REVIEW ROOF MEMBRANE AND
MAKE ANY REPAIRS NECESSARY TO KEEP WATER FROM FURTHER
DAMAGING STRUCTURE. SPECIAL NOTICE 10 BE TAKEN AT AREAS
WHERE REBAR DETERIATION HAS OCCURED. ESPECIALLY AT
JOINTS BETWEEN DOUBLE T'S.
