WORK IN PECTED:
Units Ojj 11, 611,&711
Concrete slab in this building are reinforced concrete and not a post tensioned slab.
I i
OBSERVATIONS:
All repairs were mostly along the slab edges as indicated in the repair plan.
The full depth or surface spalls originally assessed at Unit 511 were not required! The damages were found to hairline
cracks in the slab with no corroded reinforcing bars. The cracks in the slab caused failure of the tile bond to the slab
which was thought to be spalling concrete. The cracks were epoxied. i
I
The damages at the slab corners were due to no reinforcing bars along the edge in the existing construction and
compounded by the handrail post being in a cored pocket right at the comer of the slab. A#4 reinforcing bar was added
along the slab edge at the corner to minimize or alleviate future cracking.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
All structural repairs have been completed in compliance with the design documents
