THIS POLY ROOF GLASS SUN ROOM IS LOCATED IN A RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY NORTH OF SE WALTON ROAD AND
EAST OF U.S. ROUTE 1 IN PORT ST. LUCIE. THE SUN ROOM HAS SOME OPEN AREAS AROUND IT. THE ENCLOSURE IS
VERY CLOSE TO THE SAVANNAS PRESERVE STATE PARK. PER THE EXPOSURE CATEGORIES LISTED IN SECTION
1609.4.3 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE THIS ENCLOSURE SHALL CONSERVATIVELY BE CALLED AN EXPOSURE 'C'.
ACCORDING.TO THE COMPUTER PROGRAM "WINDSPEED BY LOCATION", A PRODUCT OF 'APPLIED TECHNOLOGY
COUNCIL' THE DESIGN WIND LOAD REQUIREMENTS FOR A RISK CATEGORY I ENCLOSURE IN THIS LOCATION IS
DICTATED BY A WIND SPEED OF 148 MPH. HENCE, THE DESIGN PARAMETERS BEING USED HERE ARE 150 MPH WIND
LOAD, EXPOSURE 'C', RISK CATEGORY 1.
THE NEW POLY ROOF SUN ROOM IS BEING INSTALLED BECAUSE THE EXISTING SUN ROOM, WHICH WAS BUILT
SEVERAL YEARS AGO WAS DAMAGED DURING A RECENT HURRICANE. THE FRONT HIGH POINT IS 10'-0" HIGH AND
THE SIDES ARE 8'-6" HIGH. WITH RUNS OF 14'-2" TO THE LEFT AND 8'-8" TO THE RIGHT THE SLOPES ARE ABOUT 1.28
INCHES PER FOOT AND 2.07 INCHES PER FOOT, RESPECTIVELY. THE POLY ROOF SUN ROOM IS ALREADY BUILT;
ONLY THE POLY ROOF ON THE LEFT SIDE IS BEING RESTORED. BECAUSE OF THE PRESENT DAY REQUIREMENTS THE
ENTIRE SUN ROOM IS BEING UPGRADED TO HAVE 4TH WALL CONSTRUCTION. THE EXISTING NOMINAL 4" SLAB IS IN
• GOOD CONDITION. THIS FOUNDATION IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THIS SCREEN ENCLOSURE. THE DESIGN DRAWING IS
SHOWN ON SHEET 2. THE POLY ROOF CONNECTION DRAWINGS ARE SHOWN ON SHEETS 3.
,THE HOST STRUCTURE IS A MODULAR HOME SO 4TH WALL CONSTRUCTION FOR COMPOSITE ROOFS WILL BE USED.
THEREFORE, THE COLUMNS, BRACING AND CONNECTIONS SHOWN ON SHEET 2 ARE THE SAME IN THE BACK AS IN THE
FRONT. THERE SHALL BE NO STRUCTURAL ATTACHMENT BETWEEN THE POLY ROOF SUN ROOM AND THE MOBILE
