guide for concrete/masonry application are optional
on Models 201, 202. 205. 211, 231, 232, 235. Block
clips are standard for concrete/masonry application
on Models 203, 204, 233. 234.
STEP #10 - CHECK AND ADJUST

if door lowers easily and raises hard, more tension is
required. If the door lowers hard and raises easily,
less tension is required. (SEE DIAGRAM 19)
CAUTION: For all door drives: Before
adjusting the springs, pull the doors Into the up posi-
tion. Secure the door by the following methods:
1. Tie a rope around the door roll.
2. Place a clamp at the top of the guide channel
to secure the curtain in the guides.
A. Cast Reduction Drive Doors Only
When the axle clamps are
loosened, the chain leads will be under tension. Use
extreme care when handling the chain leads.
Secure both leads of the chain to the chain retainer
(25). Score a horizontal line on the axle. Loosen aide
hardware to allow axle to spin freely. Grip both leads
of the chain securely. Note direction axle must tum to'
add or reduce tension (SEE DIAGRAM 19). Rotate
hide as required. Secure both chain leads to chain
retainer. Tighten all axle hardware. Repeat this opera-
tion It more or toss tension Is required.
B. All other doors:
a""" i
When flue axle damps are
loosened, the springs will be very strong. You will
need two people to adjust the door tension safety.
1. Each person should finny place a large pipe
wrench on the axle as shown in DIAGRAM 19.
Loosen the aide clamps and pull down for more
tension and up for less tension. For Pocket
Wheel Reduction Drive doors, remember to
loosen set screws prior to adjustment and
retighten securely after adjustment
2. Retighten the axle clamp hardware.
3. Repeat the above steps it further adjustment Is
necessary. begin at STEP $B.
STEP #11 -TOP DRAFT STOP
A. Top Draft Stop comes standard with Models 202,
204, 232 234 Irhsulated Doors. All other Models
optional.
B. Pull door down and lock. Go outside and mark a
line on the door curtain as shown. (SEE
DIAGRAM 22)
C. Raise door Z6' from floor, or until mark is
accessible. Place top draft stop (41) In position as
shown and secure with Tek screws. Stretch rubber
slightly and secure other end. Locate and install
the remainder of Tak screws at 6' O.C.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE HINTS
The following hints would help you to obtain free
operation.
1. DOOR CURTAlN'DRAGS IN GUIDES.
A. Check that (Door support brackets are plumb.
B. Adjust location of guides for ye" --tip' side
clearance. Top and bottom.
C. Door Drum I mbiy may be set too close or
too far fromil wall. Note slotted brackets for
D. Check guldes for foreign matter such as dirt,
etc.
E. Check for damaged guides.
F. Adjust lead -In bend at top inside of guides.
(SEE DIAGRAM 21)
2. DOOR OPERATES HARD IN ONE DIRECTION:
A. Check all this above points.
B. Re -check StI1ep No. 10.
C. If problem door has reduction drive, check s/tie

3. CHAIN JUMPS OFF CHAIN GEAR
A Chain Gutd9 Assembly could be on axle back-
wards. Make sure drive parts are assembled
correctly. Sege Diagram 11 for Direct Drive, and
Diagram 12 r 13 for Reduction Drives,
B. Chain Guide could be bent out of alignment
with chain wheal.
C. Check for defects In cast chain wheel or chain.
i
D. On Electric 9perator Doors or 'Pocket Wheel'
Reduction gear Doors, check for Sprocket
alignment and proper chain tension. Also check
that set screws on Pocket Wheel Assembly are
securely fasf ened.
4. DOOR DOES NOT CONTACT FLOOR LEVEL
A Use spirit W at to check whether door or floor is
off level. It door is out of level, proceed to
check the following points:
B. Check if 'Su ppbrt Brackets' and guides are
level.
C. It "l1 and 'B check out all right, roll door all the
way up and i9e If curtain rolls up straight on
drums. End door should be square. If cone
shaped, go to Section S.
D. Models,
232, 233, 234, 235: If all of the
above out and curtain Is no more than
1/2' out of level, the toAowing method of curtain
straightening may be used. The long side of
the curtain can be shrunk as follows: Roll door
all the way down. On the outside of the door
curtaln Is asteel strip tile wide. This strip
holds the caikain square. Take a screwdriver
and ellghty sprees strip into corrugated rib. A
small-amou in each of the lower ten ObS.
Door curtain will shrink an that side.
S. DOOR DOES NOT ROLL UP STRAIGHT
A. Check all poMms In Section 1.
B. An aflemathre solution W correct the coning
door Is to raise the curtain up to the stops and
determine w(mich side of the bottom angle
touches the 1stops firsL
C. Secure hand chain, remove guides, lower cur-
tain down to floor level. Install a drum wedge
on side of the door from which the bottom
angle touches'fvst
D. Proceed to Step 9 to reinstall the door guides.
E. t problem ckintinuas, oonsut factory.
INSTALLATION OF REPAIR PANELS
1. FOR ALL DOOR MODELS
Determine the number of sheets which need to be
replaced. Starting from the bottom of door curtain,
the lock seams occur on about 26' centers. When
ordering, please give exact length of sheet and
location on door (i.e.. bottom, bottom and one
Intermediate, etc.)
2. REMOVE DAMAGED SHEETS
A. Secure door in its full down position by locking
the chain an the chain retainer or by wedging a
strong piece of wood or pipe In bole at the end
of roll, against bmckeL When door sheet Is cut
off, the door will have a strong tendency:to roil
up,
B. Remove door guides.
C. Cut off damaged sheet (see Diagram 23).
Scribe a straight line and art door sheet of
using nibblers.
D. Cut the sidestdpping and remove damaged
shest(s).
3. INSTALL NEW SHEET(S)
A Clamp new sheet In location as shown.
S. Drill holes for t/e dta rivets (hk30) at 8' O.C.,
top and bottom and shown. Pop rivet as you
go.
C. Trim sidestrip as follows: Overlap steel/rubber 3
corrugations. Install the buttons and Ovals. Trim
PVC Rubber as close as possible to the nearest
staple.
