GENERAL NOTES - DEMOLITION 1. THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEMOLITION OF EXISTING MECHANICAL SYSTEMS AS SHOWN ON THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. NO ABANDONED SYSTEMS OR SUPPORTS SHALL BE ABANDONED IN PLACE, ALL DEBRIS (EXCLUDING THE ITEMS CALLED OUT TO BE SALVAGED AND TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER) SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE. 2. CEILING, GRID, AND CEILING MOUNTED DEVICES (LIGHTS, AIR DEVICES, ETC.) MAY BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED FOR THE DEMOLITION AND NEW WORK. FIRE SPRINKLERS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE AND REMAIN OPERATIONAL THROUGHOUT PROJECT. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE CARE TO REPLACE ITEMS BACK TO ORIGINAL CONDITION. DAMAGED ITEMS SHALL BE REPLACED WITH NEW, SAME TYPE AND COLOR AS EXISTING. 3. WHERE THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL ANY EQUIPMENT OR CEILINGS, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTRACTOR RECORD THE EXISTING CONDITIONS WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AND/OR VIDEO. 4. EXISTING EQUIPMENT AND APPURTENANCES PROPOSED FOR REUSE SHALL BE CLEANED, TESTED AND CALIBRATED BY THE HVAC CONTRACTOR.
