Proposed design does not match this description. As I worked with the FDEP, it was my understanding that they provided an exemption for jurisdiction in this canal and were only interested in the overall general concept. They are leaving the detail of the project for the county permit process. With the assistance of the FDEP agent and some primitive drawings and sketches, I worked through the process of achieving the exemption permit. (Permit #56- 0351797-001.002-EE) After receiving the exemption permit, I began to pursue getting all the proper documentation together for my county permit. At this time, I learned I needed more detailed information and I have been working with a local engineering firm to achieve this. (Paul Welch Inc.) The overall concept of my project is basically the same. I am installing approx. 50' of new seawall and modifying the existing dock to accommodate the width of the area between the seawall and the back side of the existing dock. Hopefully I will not be required to go back through the process with FDEP and you will be able to move forward with the county permitting process. If it helps, when I submitted my application to the county, this question was brought up at the counter review. We contacted Stacy Cecil with FDEP and she gave us the go ahead with the project as our modifications had no additional impact/or caused no environmental concerns. There is also an e-mail from Monica Sovocol that gives us the approval. I believe my counter review specialist was Andrea. I apologize in advance if I have miss -stated her name.
