Kansas Avenue Stuart, Florida 34997 Re: Atlantic View Beach Club 5047 N. Al A Ft. Pierce, Florida KSM Project #: 110423 Dear Mr. Baber: SCANNED By :Ludeco" g Garage As requested, KSM Engineering and Testing has performed a subsurface investigation at the referenced site. The purpose of the investigation was to estimate the subsurface conditions with allowable compressive pile capacities. The data gathered during the investigation, together with our geotechnipal related opinions, are included in this report. A. Site Investigation: The site investigation program consisted b borings to depth of 40 feet. The SPT It procedures described in ASTM D-1586.. I spoon sampler is driven'into the soil by sw falling 30 inches.. The number .bf blows seating 6 in., is designated the Penetra intervals the sampler. is extracted from examination and classification of the retain performing two (2) Standard penetrtion test orings were completed in accordance with 4 standard 1.5 inch I.D., 2 inch O.D. split- ;essive blows of a 140 pound hammer freely required to drive the sampler 1 foot, after ion Resistance, or "N" value. At regular the ground and opened to allow visual !d soil sample. i Samples were taken continuously to a depth of 16 feet below grade and at less than 5 foot intervals below 16 feet. A bentonite slurry drilling mud was used to stabilize the sides of the test hole. the records of the soils encountered, the penetration resistances and groundwater level are shown on the attached logs. Findings: The subsurface conditions encountered at the site consisted mostly of fine to medium grained sand and also some clayed sand and slightly clayed sand. Shell fragments were also found during the investigation. "N" values recorded during the boring operation indicate the soil density generally ranges from loose to medium dense. Please refer to the soil boring logs for specific information relative to the soil description. C. Piles: Allowable compressive pile capacities have been estimated for.the auger cast -in -place piles based on the "N" values obtained in our test borings. Pile Diameter Pile Depth Pile Capacity 14" 12 felt 20 Kips I 14" 20 feet 25 Kips 12" 25 feet 27 Kips Note: Auger cast piles have lower capacities in groups, therefore a reduction factor for group effect may be required depending upon the number of piles in a group and their respective positions. Closure: This report has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted soil and foundation engineering practices based on the results of the test borings and the assumed loading conditions. This report does not reflect any variations which may occur between the borings. If variations appear evident during the course of construction, it would be necessary to re-evaluate the recommendations of this project.
