Laminated Panel Analysis
2" Laminated Panel @ Gutter Dead Load = 3 psf
Span = 6'-3"
Components & Cladding Wind Load for Open Building — Table 30.8-1
Step 1 : Risk Category II per Table 1.5-1
Step 2 : Charlotte County —170 mph wind speed per FBC
Step 3: Kd = 0.85 per table 26.6-1
Exposure "C" per Section 26.7
Kzt =1.0 per Figure 26.8-1
Gust Effect Factor G = 0.85 per Section 26.9
Step 4: Kz = 0.90 per Table 30.3-1
Step 5: Qh = (0.00256)(Kz)(Kd)(V)2 = Qh = (0.00256)(0.90)(1.0)(0.85) )(170)2= 56.6 Equation
30.3-1
Step 6:= Determine Factor Cn: Monoslope Roof per Fiqure 30.8-1.
Roof Slope = 2:12 = 9.46 degrees
By Extrapolation, Cn = +1.65 or -1.53
Step 7: Wind Pressure per Eq. 30.8-1 p= (Qh)(G)(Cn)
Positive Pressure: p=(56.6 pdf)(0.85)(1.65) = 79.4 psf
Negative Pressure: = p = (56.6)(0.85)(-1.53) _ -73.6 psf

DESCRIPTION: WAWA CANOPY -LAMINATED ROOF PANEL
LAMINATED PANEL ANALYSIS
2" Laminated Panel @ Gutter Dead Load = 3 psf
Span 6'-3"
Combination Loads: LL = 20 psf DL = 3 psf
Combination A: (0.6)(DL)+(0.6)WL)= (0.6)(3.Opsf)+(0.6)(-73.6psf)= -42.4 psf
Combination B: DL + (0.75) [(0.6)(LL)+WL]= 3 psf + (0.75)[ (0.6)(79.4 psf) + 20 psf] = 53.73
psf.
53.73 psf > 42.4 psf thus Combination B indicates:
Per Attached Tables, MAX. Allowable Pressure for 6'-3" is 54 psf.
Table is for "externally" imposed load, thus it does not include the DL
Dead Load + Table Load = 57 psf for 6'-3"
57 psf > 53.73 psf
Thus: 2" Laminated Panel is Satisfactory.
