As an alternate to placing the perimeter pier directly under the perimeter joist on the floor system, the pier may be recessed up to a maximum of ten inches (10") from the outside edge of the floor system (sidewall side ONLY) when a minimum U4 P.T. that spans a minimum of two floorjoists is used on top of the recessed pier (see detail above). 2.
