Esposito residence. We were notified by the general contractor prior to installation of the
pilings for this residence. We have inspected and approve of the processes and
installations of the sub -contractor installing the auger cast pilings.

Subject: Design Criteria for Soil Load Bearing Capacity at,—ttles.1$land
(Esposito Residence) and 192 Nettles Island (Bergevin Residence
To Whom It May Concern,
Creswell Engineers and Constructors, Inc. (CECI) is the engineer of record for the
Esposito and Bergevin residences. Exploratory soil tests were performed on both building
lots and resulted in nearly identical results. The results showed a high presence of organic
material in the soils, which will not support a typical slab on grade foundation.
CECI designed both houses to be supported by auger cast piles with concrete beams
traversing between the auger piles. All of the loads of the house are transmitted through
the beams and into the auger cast piles and not into the soils. The design assumes that
there is NO contribution of the soil to react the loads of the house. Succinctly stated:
Soil Load Bearing Capacity = 0.00 PSF.
