The Florida Building Code and the TPI 1 standard require a truss design drawing specifying relevant parameters for the trusses in which these truss plate products are permitted to be used, including details on the truss plates (size, positioning, embedment, an d limitations thereon). All uses of these truss plate products require such a truss design drawing, fabrication -of the truss in accordance with the TPI 1 standard, and application of the truss within a structure in accordance with the Florida Building Code. Trusses are assembled using these truss plates pressed into the wood within the tolerances provided by TPI's Quality Criteria for Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses, as shown in Section 3 of TPI 1.
