I These tables list allowable pressures (%j, given as 0.6•Wat,, where W 1, is the wind pressure calculated in accordance with Chapters 26 and 30
of ASCE 7-10 using the ultimate design wind speed (Vult) and the variables given herein.
3 These tables apply to walls and vertical surfaces only.
4 Use of these tables, and the values and coefficients listed herein is to be dictated and verified by the governing building department and permit holder.
5 These tables are intended solely to illustrate design wind pressures as listed. No other warranty or certification is intended or applicable.

Tables are valid for the following conditions only:
1 Wind Speed, (V,11, 3-second gust) = 170 mph
2 Risk Category: H (General Residential and Commercial
Construction).
3 Exposure Category C
4 Topographic Factor (Kzt): 1.0 (Flat Terrain)
5 Directionality Factor (Kd): 0.85
6 For situations requiring Kd=1.0, multiply the values in
these tables by 1.1 B. Verify Kd requirements with local
building official and product approvals before use.
7 Enclosed Building: Gepi = 0.18

1 Tables show the "worst case" design pressures, with any
unknown variable at its critical condition.
2 Tables are valid for any roof slope. For reductions for roof
slopes less than 10 degrees, consult Engineer for site
specific analysis.
3 Calculate the average roof height. If average cannot be
determined, use the peak roof height. Round up the roof
height to the next highest table value.
4 Calculate the tributary area.(length x height) of the opening
in question. Round the tributary area down to the next
smallest table value. If the tributary area is unknown, use
the most critical value (10 square feet).
5 Area between structural mullions shall be used as tributary
area.
6 Determine the Zone (Interior 4, or Exterior 5) of the
opening. An opening with any portion closer than distance
'a' to a building comer shall be considered in an Exterior
Zone (5), otherwise if all of the opening falls more than
distance "a" from a building comer, the opening shall be
considered in an Interior Zone (4).
7 Distance "a," as refered to above, shall be calculated as the
smaller of 10% of the minimum building width or 40% of
tha height, but not less than 3 feet.
8 Read the worst case positive and negative design pressures
for use as required by governing building department.
